dream trip advice

“I'm going to describe the backpacking trip I want to take, and I hope someone could give me some advice on where I might find all the elements I want:
I want to go in March or April for about a month but with mild warm weather--no snow.
I imagine spending most of the time in wilderness areas where I wouldn't see a lot of people, but with easy to follow, well-marked trails, but I want to have the option to walk into a few different towns along the way to pick up more supplies, get some human contact, have a change of pace.
Plentiful water along with way in either rives or lakes. And lots of trees.
Does this exist? Do you know where?”

“The Mountains to Sea Trail in North Carolina! If you pic the right section you'll be in Heaven@”

“Florida Natl Scenic Trail. Not much wilderness (as described by congress), but pretty much covers the rest of the criteria.”

“selway bitterroot wilderness and/or frank church river of no return wilderness. they are basically the same area and you've got a few cities nearish by salmon river runs through it along with other water sources. and yes there are plenty of trees. Cate, it is the most beautiful place in the world as far as I'm concerned. call me before you go I need to spend more time up there :)”

“The Church... cities? I wouldn't exactly consider Cobalt a city. Besides, it would still be a bit c-c-cold!

A friend of mine from Challis spent 30 days in the Church with no resupply. He had six packgoats that started with about 180 pounds of supplies.”

Gila Wilderness, but you would have to hitch a ride into town.”

“oh I didn't see the no snow part I haven't personally been there that early in the year so I gues I can't rightly tell you if there is gonna be snow or not, but personally I think snow would add to the beauty :)”

“At that time of year, to be in no snow I would be looking at Zion and Grand Canyon, Gila, or maybe some mountains in Baja California. Also places in the southern hemisphere, where it would not be the end of winter, but the end of summer. Peru, Chile, New Zealand.”

there are some good streches of what looks like wilderness through big cypress preserve.
You could easily go a day a two without seeing another soul. be careful because the trail can be very wet.
winter and early spring is the best time cause any later the bugs get bad.”
