Don't let the door hit your fraud committing ass on the way out of Washington, you lousy POS excuse for a human being!! Say hi to Sarah Palin.” 9:34:12 AM 11/18/08 “wait for it...wait for it” 9:35:31 AM 11/18/08 “I thought ENS didn't like fuego? :P The thing I can never figure out is why voters continually vote their crooked politicians back into office? Look at some of the other crooks who are still there: Chris Dodd; Barney Frank; Charles Rangel.....countless others.....it's a damn shame we don't expect better.” 9:43:19 AM 11/18/08 “GOP punts on Stevens.» In their GOP conference meeting today, Senate Republicans punted “on the thorniest question – whether to formally expel Sen. Ted Stevens from their ranks.” Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) had planned to offer a resolution that read: ted_stevens.gifResolved that Sen. Ted Stevens not be invited to future Republican Conferences, and that committee assignments shall not be assigned him by the Republican Conference. “After talking with many of my colleagues, it’s clear there are sufficient votes to pass the resolution regarding Senator Stevens,” DeMint said in a statement released shortly after the 9:30 conference meeting began. But the GOP delayed the vote on Stevens today, pending the resolution of the Alaska recount. http://thinkprogress.org/2008/11/18/stevens-vote/” 9:43:28 AM 11/18/08 “RIPrison” 9:48:11 AM 11/18/08 “Don't be fooled into thinking DeMinto is a firebrand for good government.... He's a posturing toad on the make.” 9:50:38 AM 11/18/08 “wait a minute? What happened to the notion that the people have spoken so let it be. Are you saying that we aren't a straight popular vote democracy where what the people say the people get, but instead a representative republic where the representatives we elect make their decisions based on their own judgment. I am so confused with the altering positions people keep taking.” 9:56:35 AM 11/18/08 “Ted Stevens is a criminal and a convicted one at that. He deserves the cold damp cell and whatever roomate he gets. He doesn't deserve the senate chair he lost. It must suck to be 85 years old and know you're going to jail!” 10:38:16 AM 11/18/08 “You seem to be taking this a bit personal.” 10:45:31 AM 11/18/08 “Perhaps Larry Craig would like to buddy-up with old Ted. No, not Ted Haggard. Hyway is so confused.” 10:46:38 AM 11/18/08 “You got that right. ever since the election I have been trying to put myself in the place of a liberal to try and understand what principles you guys use to drive your decision making. All this smoke and mirrors has me befuddled. I need to get back into my right mind” 10:52:44 AM 11/18/08 “Dis-jointed nonsense and thinly veiled, weak insults do not bolster you BS, Interstate.” 11:05:59 AM 11/18/08 “I think it should be a law that convicts should not serve in congress. Until then, its up to the senate to decide to go against the wishes of the people (if he does get re-elected). I am sorry that you guys aren't happy with the law.” 11:26:22 AM 11/18/08 “I can see why Republicans could be confused, comparing what their politicians told them to what they actually did. The first thing to go from Gingrich's "Contract" was term limits.... That was a Clue. And the gratitude and loyalty they demonstrated! They weren't slow about tossing Old Newt over the side when they smelled blood in the water. It was like a flashback to the John Tower hearings. They talked about Small Gov't all the time but in the end their own people described them as 'Spending like drunken sailors" (drunken sailors were justifiably angered by the comparison, LOL). Then there's the bang-up job they did with Iraq, < SHEESH > But their crowning glory was how they rode in on the wave of the Christian Coalition and then so many went to prison.... for all Kinds of things. ” 11:29:48 AM 11/18/08 “I, for one, am rather amused by the fact that Repubs in Alaska elected a felon. I am not laughing to the point of tears or rolling on the floor or doing a Daffy Duck nor am I pissin' my pants with glee or mirth. This Ted Stevens thing is great for stand-up comedians and late night TV hosts. There will be much more ridicule and satire and sarcasm regarding Stevens. If it's going to be too much perhaps it would be best to not look at this thread.” 11:34:10 AM 11/18/08 “I think its pretty #&%!$ty too that they did, but its attitudes like yours Marko ("Lieberman is a traitor to his party") that makes people vote that way.” 11:52:25 AM 11/18/08 “Yup, it's all my fault. My comedic sense has caused Alaskans to vote for a felon. curse me!!” 12:12:26 PM 11/18/08 “i said it was attitudes like yours and you go and take credit for the whole thing.” 12:19:16 PM 11/18/08 “I think what this shows, as if Palin wasn't enough, is that AK is filled with idiots.” 12:42:52 PM 11/18/08 “It's attitudes like your's, Hyway, that makes me keep posting horseschit like this. Come on, hit grounder my way!” 12:55:02 PM 11/18/08 “Oh come on Mark, be proud. Horsechit is your specialty!!!” 1:10:41 PM 11/18/08 “ "We wanna hear Ol' Ted SING" (like a canary) ” 1:41:57 PM 11/18/08 “Let The Eagle Soar??” 2:06:02 PM 11/18/08 “the dud did wrong and now he's gonna pay. I wonder which color he will emit while he burns. last edited: 11/18/08 2:00:34 PM” 2:07:59 PM 11/18/08 “marko I am just shoveling the manure back to where it came from to keep from suffocating” 3:26:05 PM 11/18/08 “Not surprising that you don't have room for more Hyway ... you're..... wait for it. You're already FoS!!!!” 3:30:42 PM 11/18/08 7:06:57 PM 11/18/08 “The AP is reporting that Stevens is toast, even though the count has not been certified. A re-count is also possible. Ted Stevens loses Alaska Senate race by Michael R. Blood ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) Sen. Ted Stevens, the longest serving Republican in Senate history, narrowly lost his re-election bid Tuesday, marking the downfall of a Washington political power and Alaska icon who couldn't survive a conviction on federal corruption charges. His defeat by Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich moves Senate Democrats within two seats of a filibuster-proof 60-vote majority. Stevens' ouster on his 85th birthday marks an abrupt realignment in Alaska politics and will alter the power structure in the Senate, where he has served since the days of the Johnson administration while holding seats on some of the most influential committees in Congress. The crotchety octogenarian built like a birch sapling likes to encourage comparisons with the Incredible Hulk, but he occupies an outsized place in Alaska history. His involvement in politics dates to the days before Alaska statehood, and he is esteemed for his ability to secure billions of dollars in federal aid for transportation and military projects. The Anchorage airport bears his name; in Alaska, it's simply "Uncle Ted." Tuesday's tally of just over 24,000 absentee and other ballots gave Begich 150,728, or 47.76 percent, to 147,004, or 46.58 percent, for Stevens. There are about 2,500 overseas ballots yet to be counted. ” 10:09:46 PM 11/18/08 “Who let earthnsky back in here? I thought he was protesting the corporate scum that own this place by not coming here? Some conviction...” 2:34:12 AM 11/19/08 “I think he got his wires crossed and has been protesting Latta instead” 4:27:00 AM 11/19/08 “Bye bye, Ted.” 5:14:41 AM 11/19/08 “This will give Ted more time on his deck spying on Russa.” 5:21:59 AM 11/19/08 “One less excuse the democrats will have for why they failed miserably over the next 4 years.” 5:25:08 AM 11/19/08 “Ah yes, now the dog has caught the car. So we shall see if he can drive or simply sit there with his head out the window barking. As Rearden knew so shall we learn.” 5:38:37 AM 11/19/08 “ 6:57:52 AM 11/19/08 “You betchya, Geo!” 7:02:30 AM 11/19/08 “Geeze, I guess we'll have to give them credit for not re-electing a Republican criminal. Good job, AK! *wink*” 7:08:41 AM 11/19/08 “I'm glad he lost. We should fire all the scumbags in Washington. . . . .on both sides of the ilse” 7:42:39 AM 11/19/08 “Only half of them were idiots.” 7:58:46 AM 11/19/08 “this should be a non-issue...he should have been voted out when he started wearing diapers” 8:03:12 AM 11/19/08 “aisle” 8:10:28 AM 11/19/08 “who is nigal?” 8:21:43 AM 11/19/08 “ Stevens concedes. Mr. Begich goes to Washington. Palin goes back to Alaska. ” 1:30:13 PM 11/19/08 “The senator from San Quentin steps aside.” 1:36:46 PM 11/19/08 “I'm glad he lost. We should fire all the scumbags in Washington. . . . .on both sides of the ilse stratd00d 7:42:39 AM 11/19/08 Like Obama?” 1:57:29 PM 11/19/08 “the politicians in Alaska are quite the ethical lot.” 2:32:02 PM 11/19/08 “ ”5:51:26 AM 11/20/08 “WOW...http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/04/01/doj-sources-say-case-dropped-ex-sen-ted-stevens/ The U.S. Justice Department will drop its case Wednesday against former Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens, who was accused of seven counts of corruption, NPR reported. Justice Department sources confirm to FOX News that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder decided to abandon the case due to prosecutorial misconduct. The judge in the case has repeatedly delayed sentencing, and at one point held prosecutors in contempt. Justice Department officials later replaced the trial team, but Holder reportedly decided Tuesday to dismiss the original indictment rather than proceed to more hearings that might embarrass the department. LOL....” 5:38:23 AM 4/01/09 yay “there's a special sewer in hell for that peice of scum. He can waste away right beside Cheney, Bush and Rumsfeld and the rest of them scumbags.” 6:03:21 AM 4/01/09 “No foolin'?” 6:12:04 AM 4/01/09
