No, the electorate rejected Joey in the primary and he pitched a fit and ran a successful campaign with help from the Republikan Machine.

Haha! You forgot the little part about the DNC abandoning him and backing his opponent. The ELECTORATE were the ones who voted for him against the DNC's chosen candidate.

The ELECTORATE was hypnotized into doing the bidding of Karl Rove and the Machine, don't ya know. Only the left was smart enough to ward off the Rove Hypno-Wave and vote against J-Lieb.

Here's one for Joe and his new buddies:

How can I tell if my employer is trying to ease me out of a job?

What'd you figure you'd do after government service, Elliott?

"The ELECTORATE were the ones who voted for him against the DNC's chosen candidate."

The DNC DID NOT CHOSE the candidate.

The Democratic electorate chose Joe Bob's opponent in the Democratic Primary.
The Democratic party supported the winner of that primary.

In the general election a majority of the electorate chose Joe Bob Lieberman, who was running as an independent.

The DNC did not chose the Democratic candidate, the voters did in the primary.
The DNC supported the Democratic candidate in the general election and there is nothing unusual or untoward about that.

Bipartisan would imply a 2 way street... It seems to me that Joe Red wants to be able to actively campaign against Obama and the Dems... then turn around and be all 'Buddy Buddy'.

I'm sorry... but doesn't fly with me... Really, he was the one who should be holding out olive brances, not the other way around.

I do think, however, that he made a "deal" or two with the Dems in order to keep that Chair...

You know if it comes down to it - leaving Joe in charge of a committee is not really important against the issues facing America.

Some legislation may need that one extra vote.

the point is that the dems chose to keep him in the chair. No one filed a lawsuit to force them. It was political expediency. Thats why he is there, to keep that one vote if they need it.

YES

And the whole Lieberman Episode is somewhat comical.

I just wonder how Lieberman will manage to conduct business as usual with skewers up his ass.

I think he must realize that his career is pretty much over. Let's say Obama does 8. Joe will be too old to be a running mate for president and likley be passed up for any cabinet positions. Nope, the only thing he can do now is kick back and enjoy being a political pariah.

Geezus. Break out the pictures and graphs.

This is Ted Lamont:

This is Joe Lieberman:

Of these two people the DNC liked Lamont. They did not like Lieberman. Lamont became their little friend while Lieberman was not allowed to come over to play any more. Lieberman was angry and said, "Oh yeah? Well phuck you big corrupt political party. I don't need you any way.". Later he kicked Lamonts ass and won.

Nobody likes it but Obama may well need Lieberman's vote to pass his domestic agenda. I'm sure Reid made a suitable deal. Why toss out what leverage they have out of revenge? He'd better stay in line from now on or he'll lose his chair.

Haha! So is this the change Obamaites have been spouting about for two years? Is this how Obama, a supposed Washington outsider is going to change Washington? By playing the same old bullchit he campaigned against?

Nice. Same shyt, different guy. This is the gift of the two party system.

The DNC Supported the candidate that won the primary (i.e. the candidate chosen by "The People") The DNC didn't support 1 candidate over the other during the primaries. The DNC didn't throw Lieberman under the bus... The voters just chose Lamont, THEN the DNC Supported Lamont...

HARTFORD, Conn. – Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman took another step Tuesday toward mending his relationship with Democrats, saying that Barack Obama's actions since winning the presidency have been "just about perfect."

"Everything that President-elect Obama has done since election night has been just about perfect, both in terms of a tone and also in terms of the strength of the names that have either been announced or are being discussed to fill his administration," Lieberman said during a visit to Hartford.

Check out this exchange I had on another forum...the thread was, "Should Obama Govern from the Center?".

Me: If he is to unite the country as he has said he would he HAS to govern from the center. To govern from the left will say, "I know I said I'd work with everyone but now that I have won, screw you moderates who gave me the election.". He made great strides in my mind by allowing Joe Lieberman to keep his seat. It shows he is willing to work with the center even though he could run roughshod over everyone because he has the majority.

Other Poster: Noah: remind me. Did you support Obama in the election?

Me: No. But I am willing to accept the People's choice and give him a chance until such time he infringes on rights.

Other Poster: I see. You didn't support him, but now you presume to tell him what to do. You lost, so now you're trying to get as close as you can to winning by telling Obama to govern more like the side that lost. Sorry, noah, you lost, it doesn't work that way. Now Obama does as he thinks best for the country. That's what he was elected to do. He was elected to accomplish certain things and implement certain policies, which he presented during the campaign, and it is now his job to do that, not to implement the policies of the guy that the majority of the people did not vote for.

Me: Well see, this is the exact opposite of how I vote and you appear to be the exact type I do not wish to be now. I don't play that two Americas crap. It's all about the win for your side. You want to be known as the one who voted for a winner. I vote for liberties and rights. The Constitution and that is what I meant by infringing on freedoms. Like I said, he all our president. I don't say that like I wanna jump on some bandwagon and I don't even say it as if I'm proud.

He is just as much my leader, even though I didn't vote for him, as he is yours (for better or worse). And I have just as much right to criticize his actions as well.

VERNON - A man dressed as a ninja waving nunchucks on a street corner this morning was arrested and charged with breach of peace, police said.

Police said they received numerous emergency calls about the man, who was standing on the corner of Route 83 and Regan Road at about 11 a.m. Police said Garland Eastman, 30, of 335 Center Road, was yelling about wanting to beat up U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, among other diatribes, but he became polite and cooperative after officers started pulling out their bean bags and taser guns. He was released to Rockville General Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
