After dislocating my shoulder two weeks ago, I was anxious to go for a hike. I lead a 9 mile hike this weekend with the very informal Endless Mountains Hiking Club. We went to SGL 57, which is a 50,000 acre wilderness with few roads. This region is marked by high plateaus- on the top are swamps, rock balds, thick hemlock and spruce forests which resemble places in the Adirondacks or Canada. There were also some nice cascades. It was very cold. There was 5-6 inches of crusty snow on the mountains, but none in the valleys. The wind was really whipping above the trees. Everyone loved the hike.

Thanks, I like to hike out there- no one else for miles.

TT is anarchy, not a club.

Krista and I climbed the observation tower at Governor Dick on Sunday. Pic is in 35mm camera so gotta wait. If one had to climb an observation tower in 45+ mph winds, that's the one to do.
