Candlelight Ski/Snowshoe

“'Tis that time again. I'll be driving up on Friday from the Chicago area if anyone is interested in carpooling. Driving back Sunday afternoon.

Had some great adventures doing this trip the last two years. See the '07 and '08 trip reports.”

“Be careful of avalanches if you`re going into steep backcountry hikes. In British Columbia...an avalanche killed 7...most likely 8 snowmobilers....3 of their buddies escaped with injuries.
And I think there was an avalanche "inbound" at one of the ski centers....2 or 3 skiers/snowboarders got hurt.

Do you want to carpool? I do have to work Friday so it will be about 4:15 before I could get up to Milwaukee. I know it would mean hiking in at night but I did that last year also and I did not know were I was going then.”

"Not much snow on the trails, no track of substance left, and there are bare spots. Hiking boots are probably best choice.
