Canyonlands NP Help
I'm looking for suggestions for a loop or trails I can link together through the Needles section of Canyonlands NP later this month (Jan 2009). We have 3 nights and would like to do somewhere around 7 miles a day. Bit more wouldn't bother us.

thanks,
Broderick

Two possibilities - either the Chesler Park area or an in and out hike on Salt Creek. Both are beautiful. Salt Creek has arches, ruins and rock art. We went in on the Peekaboo Trail at Squaw Campground and out to Kirk Cabin then returned by following the stream to a trailhead a few miles away from the campground. (http://spiriteaglehome.com/Journal7.html ) Chesler is easier to make a loop and easier hiking, but not as interesting archaeologically.

Thank you. Salt Creek is the area that we have our eye on. The Rangers tell us that we need to have a backup plan incase weather is bad.
