“I've been thinking of shaving it , or at least a serious trim, but judging from the looks I've been getting from the women at work, it needs to stay, though long as it is. My biggest trouble is the strays. How do you keep them under control and still keep it long? Trim them or pull them?

Once you get the snot rocket down with out leaving any "hangers" you'll be golden RM. Seeing something dark hanging off your face takes some getting used to, and the food thing, you'll also adjust to. Just wipe your face fraquently with your napkin, or if prudency allows, the back of your hand at least.
