That sucks! I want to hike the entire trail, but it is something I want to do in September

i know there are better times for this hike then freaking february but that is the hand i was dealt so, that's what i am going to do. i just hope it's not freaking 20 below like the last time i hiked the damn thing (leota->north and back - 6 days)

but you could come out for a day or two, no? ;)

I had to look.
I can't do it though.
Offy, if you want to do it the hard way, Yogisan and I will be hiking this trail in mid-late spring, but we will be doing the whole thing in 2 days. That Woundedknee guy keeps sayin he wants to do it too, but he'll bail. ;) If you are up for (essentialy)a double marathon, then you are welcome to join us. So far it's only the two of us going.

How long is the trail? How many days are you planning?

I'd love to give the two day thing another try, provided its after tax day, and I'm in better shape.

the trail is somewhere around 55mi +/- (there is a reroute at the north end right now). i'm thinking 4-5 days. not really sure yet. it'll depend on how i feel. i'm not in a hurry and may wander around a bit checking stuff out or lingering her and there.

Def. NOT! The blow-downs are terrible. They sometimes lead you quite a ways from the trail to get around them. We pushed through many briar patches because the trees were too much of a mess to climb over.

Chris, WK - I'll keep you guys posted.
