Apparently some forum participants sign up as multiple identities, and in their alternate identities (trolls) they post provocative or insulting comments, hence they are trolls, and any new person is a potential troll version of a regular, so they call you a troll just in case.

To prove you are not a troll, you can post a picture of yourself, go on a trip, meet someone, post only positive or helpful posts for awhile, or in general let others get to know you. Don't sweat it. I have never been on a TT trip, so its apparently not mandatory.

So where do you typically backpack, and how much backpacking have you done? A state of residence will usually lead to some comparisons of destinations. Anyway, welcome.”

“I don't know anything about hiking in North Carolina (Hard's state of residence) except what I saw in "Last of the Mohicans". That scenery looked pretty nice. Do you have pictures of backpacking trips online?”

“Last of the Mohicans was filmed at Mamoth Cave SP, in KY...I don't think there is much for backpacking in NC until you get to the western part of the state. Uwharrie is in the Piedmont area, but not much to see there...

“Hard - I do consider myself to be a backpacker and have posted many trip reports.

GSMNP currently has 104 backcountry shelters and campsites. One site may be less than one year old. I have spent at least one overnight at all the sites execpt for seven of them. Three of those seven can only be reached by water. At most of the sites I have spent multiple nights. I have stayed at some sites 60 to 70 nights over the years. So, from just this achievement, I feel that I qualify as a backpacker. I have and do backpack in other locations, too.

Somehow I do manage to do some martial arts. This I mentioned to say that I an strong and "hard." However, some of my body is wearing out, like my knees and heart. This was the basis for my remark about needing assistance on the trail. I would be happy to meet you on the trail, or even at a trailhead.
