Linville Gorge wkender

“will be going down conely cove sat around 9am up to spence ridge then to Hawksbill ledge trail and back out.this is the most elevation from the river to a peak in the gorge.some 2000ft.Hawksbill is the tallest peak in the gorge.they are callin for sunny skies.on sunday will be going down plunge basin right below the falls and hike south 15min along river to a nice climb across jonas ridge and loop back to the falls parking lot a good 4hr loop rugged and steep. text my cell 3304653741 or email mtnhighcountry@yahoo.com or just show up if you think u can make it.plenty of water”

“it can be.dayhike sat then pack to awsome campsite below falls sat night. dayhike loop sun.I don't wanna carry a pack all day in this rugged territory.this campsite is a mi or so from my house so easy to pack in some comfort.take our stuff back to my place in the mornin and dayhike or leave it there and do the loop on sunday wich would be around 3 to 4 hrs tops.then home in time for super bowl”

“This was a great hike.starting out at conely cove at 845 we made our way down to the gorge trail and headed north to spence bridge.met a hiker from greensboro who was cold and heading out.went on up spence 3/4 way theres a campsite on the left across a creek.there we found the spence/ledge conn. trail.sometimes hard to follow we made it to the ledge tr and made a left.this tr is narrow and goes all the way around hawksbill mtn under a huge rock wall with amazing views .a very tough mile.made it to top (el.4020) and had some lunch and the 2 folks from Tenn decided they had enough so I called my girlfriend and she met them at the rd.my friend from ohio and I made our way back the way we came.11 miles total 1000 down 2000 up 2000 down back up 1000.we decided to go skiing on beach mtn sat night and hike around the falls this morning”
