Seems there are a lot of trips planned for the east side of the country... is there any more TT'ers from the northwest here?

Anyone intersted in getting some trips planned this summer? Any of you easterners interested in coming up to the NW for a hike?

I've asked this before and was largely ignored kind of like this thread. I don't think they like us very much for some reason

I'd love to come out there and hike, but my budget has gone PFFFT lately, and isn't too stable, either.

We did make it as far west as Yellowstone at Christmas, though. That was lots of fun.

Got any favorite trails out in Oregon, and what are they like?

it's not that we don't like you, we're just jealous. But aren't there a couple trips planned this summer for the Cascades?

I'll be climbing Mt. Hood first week of May if you're interested. May make another pilgrimage to Rainier this summer.

I think kleetn does all the talking for the PNWers. The easterners with the boring scenery have to get together for heavy drinking, thus the chatter. But there are a couple of weeks worth of trips in WA in July - some guys climbing Rainier and a bunch of girls getting drunk.

If you post a trip some of the real backpackers may come out of the brush.

What ever happened to Pixie?

Boring scenery??

Say what?

Do you live in Indiana or something?

I plan to hike in Olympic in August.

Its going to be a desert hike in Utah for me, over spring break. Mr. Borah in July I hope, and an 8 day backpack in the Sawtooths, plus some weekend backpacks.

Creek Dancer, are you one of those libertine women?

A debauchee, as it were.

Hey, I have been called a lot worse. lol But I have been known to tie on one or two or twelve. :)

I like that word "debauchee". It sounds naughty and proper at the same time.

I've hiked a fair amount in the Sierras,(every summer in Yosemite and Ansel Adams, Mt Whitney, JMT) just been in Colorado once, been in Yellowstone, Badlands, Zion NP, Bryce,--poo pooed the east, but have found magic in the old growth forest, hiking around hidden waterfalls in the winter, blueberries, such a variety of wildlife, fall colors, spring flowers--it has it's own rich, mystical brand of wildness--one just has to open their eyes and ears. I'm grateful to have experienced the east and west. hope to go north and south in the future.

TT used be to dominated by PNW'ers last time I was active here.

I am thinking about planning a trip and inviting TT'ers, but perhaps next year to give people time to plan.. plus, my schedule already getting full for this summer.

I would be interested in climbing mt hood. Though I am a novice when it comes to mountain climbing and dont have all the necessary gear for that.

Yo winddraggon
have you checked the trips page? We got some hikes lined up this year in WA...

I am also planning on the JMT in 2010 and the wonderland trail in 2011 or vice versa...

Hrmm.. actually I haven't. I just found those WA hikes you mentioned. Both sound fun... though I doubt I can shell out 1k for Rainer, but the Helens/Adams is doable.

Just did a gear inventory.. and readiness check. Honestly, I am a bit out of shape. I will probably hold you guys up.
