If you believe in most of these things, we have common ground;

The Nine Principles

1. America is good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

I know that some kool-aid drinkers are lost but please check out this show if you are tired of the left-right clusterf@#k arguments, if you're ready to make a difference check this show out. The truth is that MOST OF US are in the middle....we surround them

So the marriage unit is the ultimate authority, but apparently there's an even ultimater ultimate authority that enforces laws, but it's not the government.

1. America is good.

why do we have to decide that it is good or bad? there are good parts, and there are bad parts. already, we're approaching jingoism

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

so, if im an atheist, agnostic, buddhist, etc im less good? screw that

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

no problem with that

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

within your family, yes

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

mutt makes a good point

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

absolutely

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

no, but they can tax you

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

oh, sure, now that theres a democrat in office

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

nail. head

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

1 Peter 2:13: "For the Lord's sake accept the authority of every human institution, whether of the emperor as supreme, or of governors, as sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right."

Paul wrote in Romans 13:1: "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resist authority resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment."

So I guess if you follow the word of God, you don't question the government? How does that jive with "My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government", and "The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me"?

Just a note: Obama was elected by a landslide. His approval ratings are very high. We're not "kool-aid drinkers". We're the majority.

Most of us share many of those values. You're not part of some morally superior group.

We gotta get passed this concept that anyone left of Glenn Beck is a godless queer commie and anyone right of McCain is a fascist book burning totalitarian.

Nearly every single American fits but a single mixture of all our politics has to offer.

Why do social issues have to be bundled with fiscal discipline in our politics, so we are all surrounded by the extremes? The majority are nothing but insignificant reading being held captive between the book ends; The Bible and Marx.

Crash, let's find common ground. Saleboard, don't take the brown acid......

Doesn't anyone have the feeling that something's not right....that something's about to happen?

If we were neighbors, and this society melted down...could we get along and work together?

I think, yes.

Lobbyest, congress, the media, republicans, democrats....have failed us, have lost sight of what's important...and distracted us into forgetting what's important to us.....

My religious beliefs aren't important....it's not about religion or demonination ...it's about being honest and having morals

Are you good? I believe there are more Good people than not. I also believe the people running things, for the most part, don't have our best interest in mind, rather their own best interest(getting elected again).

How bout term limits? so these clowns have to go back into society and live under the laws they create for us?
