Vile baby!!!

Okay lets remember that using "Million Man Math" your heros can take a gathering of 100,000 and turn it into over a Million (and thats off t-shirt sales alone). Additionally you were able to take something less than 200,000 homeless and turn it into 3 MILLION HOMELESS during the '80. So I find it typically hypocritical that you would question numbers.

But HERE GOES. First most of the Stimulus Money is still...IN THE BANK,. Hell Teddy Kennedy now appears to have been the only shovel ready project of the liberal plan. Then there is THIS!

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/columns/special-editorial-reports/ACORN-got-53-million-in-federal-funds-since-94-now-eligible-for-up-to-8-billion-more-44406217.html

At least $53 million in federal funds have gone to ACORN activists since 1994, and the controversial group could get up to $8.5 billion more tax dollars despite being under investigation for voter registration fraud in a dozen states.

The economic stimulus bill enacted in February contains $3 billion that the non-profit activist group known more formally as the Association for Community Organizations for Reform Now could receive, and 2010 federal budget contains another $5.5 billion that could also find its way into the group’s coffers.

An Examiner review of federal spending data found that ACORN has received at least $53 million in federal money since 1994. A downloadable spreadsheet of the $53 million is posted on washingtonexaminer.com.

Scott Levenson, ACORN's national spokesman, said "we have received no significant federal funding." When asked by The Examiner about the $53 million, Levenson said: "If you listen to some of the Republicans who are going to get a billion dollars from the stimulus package, I'm still waiting for my share. Their claims are overinflated, this is a gimmick and an attempt to demonize ACORN."

At least one lawmaker, Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-MN, wants to stop the flow of tax dollars to ACORN, but House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank, D-MA, stands in her way.

Frank plans to strip out an anti-ACORN provision Bachman succeeded in inserting in the proposed Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Lending Act that could be voted on by the House today or Thursday.

Bahmann’s amendment was unanimously approved by Frank’s committee in a voice vote last week. It would block organizations that have been indicted for voter registration or vote fraud from receiving housing counseling grants and legal assistance grants.

The Bachman prohibition would apply only to the proposed mortgage reform legislation, and would not change ACORN’s ability to receive funds under either the stimulus program or 2010 budget.

Get the money out of washington. Smaller government means smaller graft. There are way too many hands processing the money from writing the bills, funding the campaigns to pass the bill, implementing it, paying for it, collecting taxes and then funneling the money to the program once its operating.

That is why I registered as a Republican a long time ago. Once upon a time they were for smaller government, but now they are just like democrats in how they grow government.

hyway - I challenged strat for a link to show where ACORN got or will get $8 billion in ARRA funds - a claim he has repeated over and over - not proof that they receive federal funds.

You provide a link showing they were awarded $8 million in February 2008 to provide foreclosure mitigation counseling - the stimulus program was passed in 2009.

I think its a good idea to try to keep people in their homes and paying their mortgage, don't you? If a little knowledge could keep them from defaulting and adding to an already huge problem, isn't that a wise investment on our part?

And, no matter what party, they will do the same thing when in office. Government is modeled after business, enough growth, for the pigs that get involved, is impossible to attain. To get a pay raise you have to be in charge of more people- so hire more if you need them or not.

My wife and I received counseling from a community group before we bought our first home. Because of it we paid no points and qualified for a 1/2% reduction on the interest rate. It saved us tens of thousands of dollars and helped us get started in an investment that created a lot of wealth for our family. I think we could have done without it, but we were newly married and struggling and it certainly helped.

ACORN is a criminal organization. They have been indicted in 14 states for voter registration fraud, a Federal offense. 11 members were just arrested in Florida. Now with these new videos coming out of ACORN workers encouraging tax evasion, prostitution, illegal immigration, child endangermemt....RED HANDED, in 2 different cities. They are using the very people they are supposed to be helping. I can't help but wonder how many people are in prison after being to run a brothel in their new ACORN house. They were also a huge factor in the recent housing bust. Encouraging people who couldn't afford a home to get one, finding loopholes and fixing the books so they qualify for loans that they never should or could have qualified for in the first place. Whane and Dale Rafkie(sp?) should be in prison, They have enslaved these people. They are the modern day plantation owners. One heads up SEIU, who is just as corrupt as ACORN. The worst part of all this is the now illigitimate mainstream media, who refuses to report any real news that makes Obama, who has very close ties to ACORN and SEIU, look bad. They recieve our Federal tax dollars yet work for the Demopcratic party. They have been bused to tea parties, to bank owners homes, to wall street...and WE PAY FOR THAT. The msm is officially DOA. Absolutely zero credibility. If Bush was mixed up with a crowd like this, they would be frothing at the mouth and it would lead every broadcast and be on every front page in America. The tabloids have more credibility. It's truely pathetic and disgusting. Thank God the census bureau has come out and officially cut all ties with these bottom feeders. That was one of the "loopholes" that ACORN was slated to get billions in funding for(to be hired as census takers). They shouldn't get one more cent for anything, ever.

Anyone who supports ACORN, supports organized crime. P E R I O D

ACORN Fires More Officials After New DC Office Expose

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Census Bureau on Friday severed its ties with ACORN, a community organization that has been hit with Republican accusations of voter-registration fraud.
"We do not come to this decision lightly," Census director Robert Groves wrote in a letter to ACORN, which was obtained by The Associated Press.

In splitting with ACORN, Groves sought to tamp down GOP concerns and negative publicity that the partnership will taint the 2010 head count.

"It is clear that ACORN's affiliation with the 2010 census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has indeed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 census efforts," Groves wrote.

Stephen Buckner, a census spokesman, confirmed the letter, but declined additional comment.

ACORN spokesman Scott Levenson did not immediately return a request for comment.

In recent months, Republicans have become increasingly critical of the census' ties with ACORN, which stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. The group, which advocates for poor people, conducted a massive voter registration effort last year and became a target of conservatives when some employees were accused of submitting false registration forms with names such as "Mickey Mouse."

ACORN has said only a handful of employees submitted false registration forms and did so in a bid to boost their pay.

Partly citing ACORN's role, Sens. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., and David Vitter, R-La., earlier this year blocked a full confirmation vote of Groves for several weeks. Rep. Michelle Bachman, R-Minn., also has been calling for a census boycott because of her concerns about whether the group would tamper with the high-stakes population count.

Up to now, the Census Bureau had defended ACORN's involvement, explaining it was one of 80,000 unpaid volunteer groups that the bureau hoped would be able to raise local awareness. But in his letter, Groves said it no longer had confidence that ACORN was effectively managing its partnership.

ACORN fired two employees who were seen on hidden-camera video giving tax advice to a man posing as a pimp and a woman who pretended to be a prostitute. Fox News Channel broadcast excerpts from the video on Thursday. On the video, a man and woman visiting ACORN's Baltimore office asked about buying a house and how to account on tax forms for the woman's income. An ACORN employee advised the woman to list her occupation as "performance artist."

In a statement, ACORN Maryland board member Margaret Williams said the video was an attempt to smear ACORN, and that undercover teams attempted similar setups in at least three other ACORN offices. Williams said no tax returns were filed and no assistance was provided.

Here's the punch line....after the ACRON lady came out with that last statement, A new video came out, this time a different ACORN office, doing the same thing....

Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation of DC TEA Party Planners
September 11, 2009 4:50 PM

On the eve of what organizers call a 'Big Ol' TEA Party', the Washington, D.C., offices of FreedomWorks were evacuated by DC Metro police on Friday afternoon after the conservative organization reported to authorities at 3:42 pm ET that it had received a bomb threat.

At 4:48 pm ET, the organization put out a Twitter message saying that it turned out to be a false alarm but the organization is not happy about the disruption.

My colleague, ABC News' Teddy Davis has the story:

Tens of thousands of anti-big government activists are expected in Washington on Saturday as part of a "March on Washington" being organized by FreedomWorks, a conservative group headed by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, R-Texas.

A FreedomWorks staffer told ABC News that the organization's offices at 601 Pennsylvania Avenue were evacuated on Friday afternoon by DC Metro Police because of a bomb scare.

DC Metro police has confirmed to ABC News' Jason Ryan that the DC Metro police had, indeed, evacuated the organization's offices after being told by the organization that it had received a bomb threat.

The threat came when a man called the FreedomWorks main line and told the organization's female receptionist: "I put a bomb in your building, #&%!$."

The FreedomWorks staffer who spoke with ABC News said that the organization has received multiple threats but that for some reason, the DC Metro police thought that this one was credible enough to evacuate the building.

The FreedomWorks staffer did not fear for his safety but worried that it was an effort to disrupt the organization's ability to round up activists in advance of tomorrow's "March on Washington" which is expected to bring tens of thousands of activists to the nation's capital.

The FreedomWorks staffers says that 50 volunteers were forced to leave the office where they were making calls encouraging people to come to tomorrow's event.

It's no accident that Obama is "out of town" today...free speech be dammed!
