I'm shocked. You just don't get reality, do you? If we add 30,000,000 new patients and loose 40% of the doctors, WE'RE SCREWED. Rationing won't begin to describe the nightmare we will all wake up to if this clusterphuk passes.... Nigal, you playing the race card on me now? I expect that childish crap from Marko... It's what people do when they have no real argument and just want to shut down the discussion.... My conscious is clear and that will never work on me...” 8:11:03 AM 9/17/09 “nigal was trolling you now, explain to me how joan rivers is a democrat” 8:16:22 AM 9/17/09 “I was assuming, playing the odds. Here's my request. Please don't represent yourself or Beck as defending the common everyday American working man/woman. I've been in that category all my life, as have most of my friends and family and you do not surround me. You have an opinion. Let's keep it at that. K?” 8:35:41 AM 9/17/09 “..............strat strat strat ...........strat dunadan strat ..............strat strat strat strat” 8:43:01 AM 9/17/09 “Dan, you are being used by both parties. Wake up and smell the progressiveness.... Lets try this....Dan, are you honest? Do you have integrity? Are you in favor of corruption?” 12:37:01 PM 9/17/09 “You are nothing more than an insulting little prick, stratdood. I too have worked all my life as have my friends and family. "Lets try this....Dan, are you honest? Do you have integrity? Are you in favor of corruption?" I'll answer that............ Go fnck yourself! You are a joke. I suspect that you are miserable in your own life. Sharing your misery with others is a sure sign of a very small "man", a trait you share with a couple other weenies here who constantly pick at others. Tend your own garden..........get a life.” 1:44:22 PM 9/17/09 “I wonder if marko has ever called tilt an insulting little prick, or even called himself that. he ought to.” 4:42:40 PM 9/17/09 “Marko, what a nice gentleman you turned out to be... If you'd like to discuss the issues of the day that's cool with me. Your true colors are shining through. I guess civility isn't your strong point. Did you have a bad day, marko? You seem pensive..... So how bout it Dan...do you like corruption in your gevernment? That's all Beck's doing is pointing out corruption so I don't get why you hate him so bad. The name of the thread is WE SURROUND THEM, not Strat surrounds Dan. The idea is that the weasels in Washington are only a few people and that we citizens are many millions and that they work for us, not the opther way around and we should demand excellence from them and not tolerate corruption at any level or from either side of the spectrum. That's why I asked you if you are in favor of corruption. So are you?” 5:21:02 PM 9/17/09 “I hope you are aware that our government cannot function without corruption , it is the grease on the skids, the gas in the tank, the air that they breathe. It has become what it is after years of having actors playing the roles of legislators who wait for lobbyist to tell them what to do. Business runs this country and the government is a smoke screen to keep people thinking that their vote counts for something. last edited: 9/17/09 6:02:48 PM” 6:25:40 PM 9/17/09 “Well dood you can give up if you want to but I'm not going to. We do have the power to fire them. Voters have to be informed. The media won't do it. The purpose of Government is to prevent plunder, not facilitate it. Let's clean up the mess that is Washington” 6:35:16 PM 9/17/09 “You pulled my chain, dood. I'm told you are a pretty decent guy, but the way you have been slingin' mud has a lot of people wondering if you have gone 'round the bend. That's why I asked you if you are in favor of corruption. Do you really expect a serious answer to that or are you being an entertainer? That's like asking someone if they still beat their wife.” 6:48:02 PM 9/17/09 “You cannot protect yourself from yourself. All the craziness is part of his marketing strategy (unless he's actually certifiably insane). I just hope no one gets hurt. ” 6:51:38 PM 9/17/09 “Oh, I see......................crazy like a fox, no? (unless he's actually certifiably insane) The drool could be real.” 6:57:26 PM 9/17/09 “Ahhh, Strat, my friend. I disagree that Beck is only trying to bring honesty to our government. You should look at the video posted on this thread of the people who attended this rally and called President Obama every name in the books. Watch it a couple of times. Beck is inciting folks and not helping their level of understanding. It is, by now, an age-old tried-and-true method of selling books, getting attention on the radio, and generally making money off of the misinformation and prejudices of an audience begging for controversy. However, I love Arkansas and think that you have become a crusader for the wrong cause.” 7:22:04 PM 9/17/09 “ ”7:25:38 PM 9/17/09 “I don't care what any of you say, I'm gona be just like half Glen and half Sarah (they are both only halves) when I grow up and health care gets better operations for such things. And, I'll get good at painting signs and Crash can help with the spelling. And, when I really really grow up maybe I can be just like uncle Stovie.” 7:40:49 PM 9/17/09 marko and dan “ok marko, I accept your near-apology. (thanks crash Gone around the bend? Well if being sick and tired of complete bullsh1t coming out of Washington, from both parties, makes me crazy, I can live with that. Mudslinging? I'm telling the truth as I believe it to be. As it has been proven to me, sometimes by Beck but from many other sources too. Not to hurt any one person or party, but to show some light that no one else is showing you. You have to understand I'm not interested in selling my books or my radio show ratings, I believe what I'm saying. I'm only interested in justice...the truth. Injustice p1sses me off. My only agenda is to do something about the isanity that permiates our gubment, which causes many more problems for us than it solves. I'll say it again, the purpose of Government is to prevent plunder, not facilitate it. The question I ask, are you in favor of corruption, is serious. I'm trying to appeal to your good judgement. No one will answer me for some reason but here's where I'm going with the idea. If you are truely opposed to corruption and you are truely honest and decent, then you will start recognizing it, even if it's your guy that's doing it. Then you will act on your recognition of the corruption. Instead of calling me ( and Beck, and over a million teabaggers) crazy, maybe you could consider looking into these things with an open mind and a desire to know the truth. You called us crazy when we brought up Van Jones and his past, then he resigns. You call us crazy for bringing up ACORN, congress voted today to totally defund them, including HUD. You called us crazy for bringing up the car.gov warning that they will consider your computer government property, they removed it form the website. There are many more example of things that this movement have affected. People like tilt either say "Bush did it too" or "your crazy, racist, redneck, nazi and crazy crazy". That only shows me that people like tilt are A. afraid that were onto them, or B. doesn't care about the corruption as long as it's his side getting away with it or C. Both A and B. There's no substantive disscussion, no defending the corruption, no reasonable debate, just calling me a a crazy racist redneck. I keep thinking that some rational person might actually stop for a minute and say....wait, they're doing what? Dan, i watched the video and quite frankly, I understand their frustration. I feel it too. I have attended several tea parties and if I could have, I would have been in DC on 9-12. As one of them I feel like I'm qualified to say a few things that you won't hear in the fringe media. We are not racist, fanatical, diabolical, stupid, or crazy. I'll grant you that in a croud of over a million people there will be a few wingnuts. It's not like they were throwing people through windows like they do at G7 protests. Now look closely because here's what the deal is. What these people are, is angry. Washington just outspent our entire history in a matter of a few months. That's our money. It's not a gift from the IRS, it's our money and we'll never pay it all before we die so then it's our children's money, and they won't be able to pay it off either so it's also our grandkid's money. It's not Washintons money, it's ours. Now they want to keep going full speed and spend trillions more. They are seizing industries and institutions. What's more is, Washington spent the money for their own benifit, not ours. These outraged teabaggers are mostly people that have been unengauged and never involved in politics, and Washington's actions have jolted them awake and now they are speaking out and starting to get some traction, as I pointed out with Van Jones and ACORN. This isn't a Republican movement, but there are some that have tried to latch onto the momentum. I assure you Republicans will be held accountable too. It's real. Just ordinary citizens who are fed up enough to finally do something about it. The lamestream media continues to downplay the whole thing, and play the race card but I'm here to tell you it's only going to solidify our resolve and add to our numbers. People get it. They may not be Harvard graduate elites but they have plently of common sense to know when they have been played. The cause is truth, dan. Truth. Enough with the BS partisanship. I left the GOP to send them a message. That corruption will no longer be tolerated. That I am not beholded to a party, but to my Country and my children's futures, and the truth. It's not too late. We have already made progress and it's going to speed up, mark my words. There is more corruption that will be exposed very soon. It may be your guy who gets caught this time....will you still defend him if it is? Or will you just call us crazy mudslinging racist, like tilt does? Stand up America and take your Country back, that's Beck's message and I believe he's right. The only thing Beck insites is people's natural yearning for justice. It's real, believe dat....Why don't you read his books instead of taking Ariana Huffington's word for it. Listen to his show a few times. Whenever I hear something on his show, I research it from a different angle and he's always right. I think he' a good person and he's changing America for the better.” 8:38:19 PM 9/17/09 “There are still laws on the books against inciting to riot, eh? After the skinheads killed a few people their families were able to sue the 'Aryan' Nations and bankrupt them.” 9:01:49 PM 9/17/09 “Riot? The DC police reported ZERO arrest. It was a peacable assembly which is a constitutional right. You just proved me right again, call us rasict and crazy. That's all you got. Lame doesn't quite cover it.....” 9:09:40 PM 9/17/09 “Why are these relatively few fringe characters getting so much airtime? It sells toilet paper and more Chinese crap at MalWart, LOL It's like a great big outdoor Jerry Springer Show. "Look Helen! The Freak Parade is headed this way ---- git your camera phone! ” 9:27:30 PM 9/17/09 “Today Hannity was in Fresno county at a farmers water protest. The US something or other was being blamed for all these farmers not having enough water. A guest speaker for the salmon fisherman was talking about the reason water was short and some farms had no crops is because the farmers sold the water rights to SoCal. But Hannity didn't want to hear the truth so he turned around and was waving his arms to insite the crowd to start yelling , which they did. Twice Hannity was caught by the camera , when it was supposed to be on the fisherman guy , but the camera man nailed Sean twice. Never was able to hear what the fisherman was trying to say.I wonder if camera dude will ever work with hammerhead again? last edited: 9/17/09 9:43:37 PM” 10:07:05 PM 9/17/09 “You research what Beck says and he's always right? I've provided a number of instances where he's wrong, provided links to supporting evidence and asked you to defend your claims. You blow it off every time. You aren't on a mission to expose the truth. This guy is feeding your paranoid delusions. You like the sound of what he's selling and that's good enough for you. If you want to base your world view on fantasy and half truths, that's fine but don't expect people not to call you out on it. Beck and the like are feeding outrage for profit. The danger is that it only takes one idiot to kill the President or take out a whole building full of people. Its a dangerous game and they aren't blind to it. They add a few disclaimers so they can deny responsibility if the worst happens, but they're still instigating violence. I've waited a long time for this country to head back in a direction that will benefit the common citizen. Obama is not moving fast enough or far enough for my tastes, but we're headed in the right direction. We tried it your way for several decades and things have gotten worse and worse. Face it - your side lost. Every worthwhile change in this country came from the progressive side of the spectrum. Get out of they way.” 5:13:37 AM 9/18/09 “I wish all these crusaders for civility were around for the last 8 years. Its like all of a sudden they got religion. Of course, their religion only calls for civility from the other side. they have no problem with the hate speech spewing from the left on this forum. last edited: 9/18/09 5:04:38 AM” 5:29:20 AM 9/18/09 “Here's one I hadn't heard that appears timely: "pitchfork populists". I'm thinking of the opening scene of Van Helsing, LOL.... or just about any other movie involving Frankenstein's Monster you could name. Or perhaps something from the Children of the Corn film cycle. Farm implements and raised voices abound..... a somewhat comedic vision of the classic lynch mob. How about The Ox-Bow Incident? Oh, that's a bit more grim ---- But it leads to a central question: What do they propose to do to Them after they have Them 'surrounded'? ” 7:46:09 AM 9/18/09 “I'll grant you that in a croud of over a million people there will be a few wingnuts. Tell the truth, now! If you want honesty then take your own advice. You don't care about corruption as long as it's your side doing it. This is now a proven fact.” 2:47:52 PM 9/18/09 “I haven't seen you condemn cannibalism. I suppose that means that you support eating human flesh. What a disgusting practice.” 4:10:28 PM 9/18/09 “only the young tender ones..... Bush Cabinet official target of corruption probe Justice Dept. investigating former Interior Secretary Gale Norton's ties to oil company By John Heilprin And Dina Cappiello, Associated Press Writers On Friday September 18, 2009, 2:56 pm EDT WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Justice Department has launched an investigation into whether former Interior Secretary Gale A. Norton illegally used her position to steer lucrative oil leases to Royal Dutch Shell PLC, the company she works for now, officials with both departments confirmed to The Associated Press. AP - FILE - In this March 20, 2006 file photo, then-Interior Secretary Gale Norton speaks at the Agriculture Department ... The criminal investigation is focused on a 2006 decision by the Interior Department to award three oil shale leases on federal land in Colorado to a Shell subsidiary. Oil from the leases could eventually earn the company hundreds of billions dollars. Investigators are looking into whether Norton, named by President George W. Bush to run the agency in 2001, violated a law that bars federal employees from discussing employment with a company if they are involved in a decision that could benefit that company. Months after granting the leases to Shell, Norton left the agency. Shell later that year hired her as an in-house counsel for its unconventional fuels division, which includes oil shale. Justice Department and Interior investigators also are trying to determine if Norton violated a broader federal "denial of honest services" law. Under the statute, government officials can be prosecuted for violating the public trust for directing government business to favored firms. Officials spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case. Norton could not be reached immediately for comment. "We are aware of an investigation; however, we are not in a position to comment," said Kelly op de Weegh, a Shell spokeswoman. The Interior Department's Office of Inspector General began the investigation toward the end of Bush's last term, after receiving complaints about the lease process. The IG's office made a formal referral to the Justice Department earlier this year after concluding there was probable cause of a criminal violation. The investigation was first reported by The Los Angeles Times. Prior to becoming Bush's first Interior secretary, Norton was Colorado's attorney general and had worked as a private lawyer for timber, oil and mining companies. At Interior, she supported expanded oil and gas drilling on government-owned land. The development of oil shale largely in the West was one of the technologies that the Bush administration wanted to explore aggressively. In response to a recommendation by then-Vice President Dick Cheney's energy task force, the Interior's Bureau of Land Management issued six demonstration leases in Colorado and Utah. Shell was the only company to receive more than one lease. Its U.S. operations are based in Houston. Associated Press writers John Heilprin and Devlin Barrett contributed to this report. Heilprin reported from New York. If he's guilty, string him up” 4:53:52 PM 9/18/09 Here you go Violin “Obama: Legalize illegals to get them health careRate this story http://washingtontimes.com/news/2009/sep/18/obama-ties-immigration-to-health-care-battle/?feat=home_cube_position1 Republicans see a backdoor move toward 'amnesty' By Stephen Dinan President Obama said this week that his health care plan won't cover illegal immigrants, but argued that's all the more reason to legalize them and ensure they eventually do get coverage. He also staked out a position that anyone in the country legally should be covered - a major break with the 1996 welfare reform bill, which limited most federal public assistance programs only to citizens and longtime immigrants. "Even though I do not believe we can extend coverage to those who are here illegally, I also don't simply believe we can simply ignore the fact that our immigration system is broken," Mr. Obama said Wednesday evening in a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. "That's why I strongly support making sure folks who are here legally have access to affordable, quality health insurance under this plan, just like everybody else. Mr. Obama added, "If anything, this debate underscores the necessity of passing comprehensive immigration reform and resolving the issue of 12 million undocumented people living and working in this country once and for all." Republicans said that amounts to an amnesty, calling it a backdoor effort to make sure current illegal immigrants get health care. "It is ironic that the president told the American people that illegal immigrants should not be covered by the health care bill, but now just days later he's talking about letting them in the back door," said Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas, the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee. "If the American people do not want to provide government health care for illegal immigrants, why would they support giving them citizenship, the highest honor America can bestow?" Mr. Smith said. But immigrant rights groups see the speech as a signal that Mr. Obama is committed to providing health care coverage for anyone in the United States legally, regardless of their citizenship status. "It's the first time I've certainly heard, publicly, him talking more about legal immigrants," said Eric Rodriguez, vice president for research and advocacy at the National Council of La Raza (NCLR). "I think that was certainly positive progress. We were absolutely concerned about not hearing that." On Wednesday, hours before Mr. Obama's speech, the NCLR had given the administration a public scolding, demanding that Mr. Obama needed to make "a public commitment ... to ensure that those who are here legally are covered." A White House spokesman did not respond to questions about where the White House would make the cutoff for eligibility, and Mr. Rodriguez said he's still waiting for an answer from the administration. "We don't know where they mean to draw the line," he said. "Our biggest concern is that most people don't realize legal immigrants are currently barred from receiving health care benefits for the first five years in the country." Under the 1996 welfare overhaul, most federal aid programs are restricted to citizens and legal immigrants who have been in the country for at least five years. Democrats have tried this year to chip away at that rule. Immigration has dogged Mr. Obama in the health care debate. Rep. Joe Wilson, South Carolina Republican, shouted, "You lie," when the president, in an address to Congress last week, said his plans wouldn't cover illegal immigrants. Lawmakers - who got an earful from constituents back home during August - have insisted on extra checks to make sure illegal immigrants do not have access to taxpayer-funded programs. Senators have worked on language that would prevent illegal immigrants from buying insurance through a proposed insurance exchange envisioned in the health care reform package. But the NCLR said that could lead to situations where some members of a family would be covered and others, including children of illegal immigrants, wouldn't be. Mr. Obama said legalizing illegal immigrants is a way to take the sting out of the entire issue. But Republicans said by pushing to legalize illegal immigrants, Mr. Obama is signaling that those here illegally eventually will get access to taxpayer-funded benefits. Still, the push to pass a legalization bill is beginning to gain steam, even as advocates fret that the White House is moving too slowly. On Thursday, Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez, Illinois Democrat and an outspoken advocate for legalization, agreed to take leadership in writing a new, more generous bill. "We simply cannot wait any longer for a bill that keeps our families together, protects our workers and allows a pathway to legalization for those who have earned it," Mr. Gutierrez said. "Saying immigration is a priority for this administration or this Congress is not the same as seeing tangible action, and the longer we wait, the more every single piece of legislation we debate will be obstructed by our failure to pass comprehensive reform." I SOOOO called this! Don't even try, there's nothing you can say. I was right all along and so was WIlson” 5:24:02 PM 9/18/09 “You do know MexCain wanted to legalize them a few years back.” 6:58:07 PM 9/18/09 “Mclame's.....lame” 7:19:24 PM 9/18/09 “ ”7:53:14 PM 9/18/09 “Stratdood, the Tea Bagger's march didn't even amount to six digits. If you are going to keep going on about the truth you ought to try telling the truth. If the normal amount of psychotic paranoid energy in Washington, D.C. is the size of this here Twinkie then on September 12 that psychotic paranoid energy in D.C. would have been the equivalent of a Twinkie ten feet long and weighing 600 pounds.” 9:44:54 AM 9/19/09 “Lies work, especially when you are dealing with people who never will and never will want to know the truth. Ten feet long Twinkie with Moscone and Milk?” 9:54:33 AM 9/19/09 “Communist Tactics used by Right wing Nuts Glenn Beck Caught with Fake Pic as proof of 2 billion Tea Bag Moron March Tea Party protesters trying to tout the size of their march on Washington last weekend have been passing around a photo of a packed National Mall. But the picture is years old. Politifact asked Pete Piringer, public affairs officer for the D.C. Fire and Emergency Department, if the rally was big enough to fill that space. Piringer said no -- and moreover, the picture can't be from 2009. "It was an impressive crowd," he said. But after marching down Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol the crowd "only filled the Capitol grounds, maybe up to Third Street," he said. Yet the photo showed the crowd sprawling far beyond that to the Washington Monument, which is bordered by 15th and and 17th Streets. There's another big problem with the photograph: it doesn't include the National Museum of the American Indian, a building located at the corner of Fourth St. and Independence Ave. that opened on Sept. 14, 2004. (Looking at the photograph, the building should be in the upper right hand corner of the National Mall, next to the Air and Space Museum.) That means the picture was taken before the museum opened exactly five years ago. So clearly the photo doesn't show the "tea party" crowd from the Sept. 12 protest. "I've seen bigger crowds at Montreal Expos games, but I still wouldn't fake a photo just to justify your predictions of millions descending on Washington," said one gleeful Democratic media strategist. "This is grade-A stupid and just plays into the argument that these were astroturf protests to begin with. They've always brought the noise, but the question that was supposed to be answered this weekend was, could they bring the numbers? In that respect this was an unmitigated disaster." A number of conservative blogs have since taken the photo down. Some have corrected their posts. Others say the circulation of the picture was a left-wing conspiracy to discredit the event. However, many of them are still claiming that at least a million people attended the march. Nate Silver estimates about 70,000 protesters showed up. It isn't the first failed attempt by the protesters to inflate the size of the event. On Saturday, organizer Matt Kibbe announced on stage that ABC News had estimated a crowd of 1 to 1.5 million. ABC News had reported no such thing.” 10:07:00 AM 9/19/09 “Wuh-oh.” 10:41:03 AM 9/19/09 “oh ok...well nevermind then.
