The last two posts have something for you to look at, Strat. We all should be willing to let Acorn, or any other organization, live and die by their own merits. Just like we should expose those people who are nothing but mouthpieces for special interests with lots of money who buy their influence.
I wonder why you are so inflamed at Obama. You work so hard to oppose everything he does, (it looks like from my viewpoint), but there are so many other forces that are shaping our world that put us in great danger economically and physically.
Two books you might enjoy that are non-partisan, (from what I can tell), are "Deep Economy" by Bill McKibben and "The Gift of Good Land" by Wendell Berry. Try them out, see what you think.

See that look on Blanche`s face? She knows she`s toast. They got to her. Every politician has their price and they found her`s.

People like this are the problem...."I can not support the bill in it`s current form"

Then she votes yes anyways....yeah yeah it`s a procedural vote but everybody knows how this works. If you`re against it, vote no. It makes me sick and I can tell you for an absolute fact that she just ended her political career in the great state of Arkansas.....

Tell me I am wrong if it is so, Strat, but it sure looks like you are defining yourself more by wanting someone to fail rather than wanting something positive for the people of the United States.
You want to bring this woman down just for voting to allow a debate??????? I am serious when I say that I am surprised that you feel this way.
Since when did we not debate a topic as crucial as health care in this country???
(Could this be the SHOUT THEM DOWN mentality shown at town-hall forums?)

well, when you`re afraid that the debate may pass something you`ve been told by a pudgy television personality (which means it must be right!) will be the irreversable dawn of socialist communist fascism in America and will ultimately lead to her downfall, of course you`re going to want nothing but failure at any cost.

pardon my sarcasm, but my honest opinion is that strat and his fellow compatriots have been so misled and terrified by the right-wing fearmongers that they do indeed want to see the current government fail, at any cost. Whether or not the governments` attempt is at something good or not, because it`s a liberal government, their talking heads will denounce it as evil, which is all the d00d needs to do the same. It`s why he can spout such inanities as "big government baaaaaaad!" and "Obama=ACORN=evil" and think he`s sharing some truly enlightened information with us

Here's what HHS says reform will mean for Arkansas: http://www.healthreform.gov/reports/statehealthreform/arkansas.html

You can click and look at each state: http://healthreform.gov/

Why would Evil Blanche Lincoln want to take the chance that residents of her state would suffer through horrors such as?:
•481,000 residents who do not currently have insurance and 128,000 residents who have nongroup insurance could get affordable coverage through the health insurance exchange.
•323,000 residents could qualify for premium tax credits to help them purchase health coverage.
•506,000 seniors would receive free preventive services.
•89,800 seniors would have their brand-name drug costs in the Medicare Part D “doughnut hole” halved.
•36,200 small businesses could be helped by a small business tax credit to make premiums more affordable.

481,000 residents who do not currently have insurance and 128,000 residents who have nongroup insurance could get affordable coverage through the health insurance exchange.
*I don`t believe those numbers, unless maybe you`re counting illegals. Also, check your language...COULD get coverage, or we could all get ghetto medicare crap

323,000 residents could qualify for premium tax credits to help them purchase health coverage.
* Could qualify? How bout we give them all vouchers and let them choose how to spend their HC dollars? How bout we let people shop across state lines so free market forces will achieve real competition?

506,000 seniors would receive free preventive services.
*FREE? Nothing is free...NOTHING! There are billions in new taxes as well as billions in medicare cuts. They are using every Washington accounting gimmick they can think of. And idiots like you trust them...

89,800 seniors would have their brand-name drug costs in the Medicare Part D doughnut hole halved.

* As you know, the prescription drug entitlement program passed under Bush is totally broke and so is Social security and Medicare(somewhere in the neighborhood of 90 TRILLION if you add it all up). Now tell me how you could possibly think they wont screw this up too.

36,200 small businesses could be helped by a small business tax credit to make premiums more affordable.

* Could be ? This bill is a job killer. The wrong thing to do on top of Obamas other job killing shenanigans. Businesses will be mandated to cover employees and also have new taxes and more regulations to contend with.

Rationing, over 100 new agencies, a huge new tax burden for businesses, long lines, government intrusion, fines and jail time if you dont sign up, more dependency, more entitlements, total control over what you eat, smoke, drink, ride, drive, every freedom you now enjoy, that`s what they are selling here, all while saddling your kids with insurmountable dept ....

America better wake up, you`re not gonna like it when they are through. You know in your gut that this isnt right. You know their track record, dont buy into the fear tactics. There are common sense solutions to our problems.

lol d00d, the angrier you get, the more hilarious your posts are. My question is, are you deliberately accusing other people of doing/being exactly what you are in an attempt to shift attention from your own idiocy, or is that happening on accident?

Accuse other people of fearmongering so they can`t see MY fearmongering.

Tell other people they`re ignorant and stupid so they don`t see how ignorant and stupid I am!

Whine about people being mean and calling me names so they don`t see that I do the same thing!

Maybe you`re a lot smarter than I initially believed. Maybe this is all part of some master plan of yours.

Alexander Frazier Tytler, published in 1776.

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by dictatorship. The average age of the world`s greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: "from bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage."

the best part of all of this is I`m sure you`re all worked up (you can try and deny it, but such childish vitriol is almost exclusively the result of someone`s feelings getting hurt) and angry. After this, you`ll probably run to your room, throw yourself onto the bed, and scream into your Transformers pillow before writing in your diary about what a jerk I am. And me, I`m getting the best online entertainment one can get short of pron. I have a question - I`m thinking of writing a book, and I`d be honored if you would let me base a character off of you. Pretty please?

ok stupid, I`m over it. It`s over. The science is settled, you are an imbecile.

Now, if you would like to have a rational discussion some time, I would welcome that. I am done with your personal insults though. I can do that too. Any 9 year old can insult. Maybe you can act like an adult and play nice. If not, it`s on like Donkey Kong in a thong...
stratd00d
3:46:55 PM
11/24/09

how scientific of you. I`ve tried to play nice, but you need logic and independent thought have any sort of discussion on beliefs (come to think of it, you need actual beliefs too, and "I believe anything Glenn Beck says" doesn`t count), and these are things you have proven again and again you`re sorely lacking in.

So here`s how it`ll go. You keep posting your moonbat Beck conspiracy articles with your brilliant insight after (libbies are baaaaaaaad! Beck is right! We surround them!) and I`ll keep using logic to point out how silly the articles are, and just how mistaken your constant claims that this is nonpartisan and you`ve come to these decisions through independent and logical thought really are. Then you can throw a hissy fit in reaction to the logic (understandably so, since logic has no place in the church of Beck) which will ultimately collapse into you calling me stupid so you can avoid applying any sort of reason to anything. Noncon will snipe in on occasion with his particular brand of useless sarcasm, HPD may come to your defense on occasion, and the rest of the conservatives on here will do their best to distance themselves from you because, in the words of Mutt, you`re an embarrassment. Then I`ll go home for the day (like I`m doing right now... taa taa) and you`ll be left to angrily surf your propaganda sites for more dreck to cross-post here the next morning. Beginning the cycle all over again.

maybe eventually, you`ll realize that it`s too emotionally exhausting to continue the insanity (I`ve long given up on your adopting an actual logical and open view of politics), at which point I guess my free daily entertainment will end and I`ll have to find something else to do when it gets slow at work. But I doubt it. You really believe in what Glenn Beck tells you to believe, and a man whose passionate about his beliefs is very difficult to turn away, no matter how ridiculous they are. So I can always know that, when I get bored at my desk, I can come to TT and, between the trip discussions (do you actually backpack at all, d00d?), gear talk, and chatter, there will always be this wonderful thread and the hilarity that waits just a mouse-click away.
