Harry, you would have loved what I made the other night. I made good ole fashioned, PA Dutch style Chicken Pot Pie, with homemade egg noodles and broth, except I used Quorn version of chicken, so it was veggie, not vegan, but veggie. Very cool, I must say.

It's the distance darling. The cold, lonely distance.

All I have here are vegetables, and the occasional fruit. It's not the same. *sniffle, tear*

The oven is a might rusty. I could scrub it and oil the inside with peanut and heat it in the oven.

Geeze I hope the campsite is big enough for everyone! I'm still trying to figure out what to bring sounds like a ton of food is gonna be there. I'm trying to think of something quick and easy since we will probably be getting back to camp late.

here is a trip report for Doubletop
posted by Tom Rankin on Views.

His group used the same route we are going to take.

Doubletop 4-12-9

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We left with a group of 10 around 9:05 from Seager. Marc left about 30 minutes before us. Nice walk along the stream to the 'bear'. No hard stream crossings.

After this, up we went, slowly but surely. We arrived at the top around 11:45, having hit the 'rock' which had great views. Marc had been there by 10:15!

Windy and cold but no precip today. Some hard frozen snow here and there, so some donned micro-spikes or stabilicers, other stayed in bare boots. A few slips and slides, but par for the course.

Back down a 'lazy' route and out by 2:30. A nice group, and a beautiful day!

P.S. If you lost a compass up there, PM me.

LOL with all this food we are gonna need about 4 cooking fires!

Maybe I figure out an appetizer like cheese and crackers or Shrimp cocktail, something that doesn't need to be cooked.

Intersection of Matyas Road and Route 28 is the closest thing I can think of to a direct find. The parking lot is at the end of Matyas Road, there is a trail kiosk there and a trail register. You walk 100 feet in from the parking lot and the campsites are there. There should be several campsites and fire rings there. I've not seen the place, but it will accomadate our group. I talked to someone who is knowledgeble of the site. IT sounds very much like Masten. There are even remanents of buildings.

So what is the menu for Saturday night? DO we need anything? What can I bring? I will have a cooler of Keegan Old Capitol, one way or another.

Oh and we'll need your kilt pics for our files at your earliest convenience.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
