“After passage of a huge wilderness bill today, there's a new National Scenic Trail: the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail. It's some 1,200 miles long and stretches from Montana to the Pacific Ocean. It travels from Glacier National Park in Montana to Cape Alava on the Pacific Coast, winding through three national parks (Olympic, North Cascades and Glacier) and seven national forests. Here's more info on the trail, and here's a map. It also includes the Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail. Very cool!” 5:23:11 PM 3/25/09 “Sweet!” 5:32:12 PM 3/25/09 “The bill does a lot more than that - it designates 2 million acres as new wilderness, mostly in California, followed by Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Oregon, Virginia, West Virginia, New Mexico and Michigan.” 5:34:01 PM 3/25/09 “Hey West Virginny!! WTF is wrong with you posting about hiking when the sky is falling?” 5:33:36 AM 3/26/09 “That is awesome!!!” 8:10:21 AM 3/26/09 “The sky is still falling, you silly hikers.” 8:28:51 AM 3/26/09
