Where we meet will depend on whether I have another person joining this hike too. I fairly certain that he's a lock. So, you will probably be meeting us at Big Portage Lake on Friday morning (10:00am?) I think we're going to now hike the whole trail which will be approx 37 miles in length. 15 miles on Friday, 9 miles on Saturday, and 13 miles on Sunday. We can easily shorten the mileage though, by starting at Mt.Hope rd, which will knock off 5-6 miles, although, we'd miss Sackrider Hill overlook. Its doesn't really matter to me though, and will do whatever everyone else would like to do? If we start later on Friday then we can just move the start point east to Loveland Rd Shoot me an email at mfog1@att.net last edited: 3/31/09 5:18:59 PM” 5:15:49 PM 3/31/09 “Sackrider hill isn't that big of a deal; you won't miss much.” 6:56:29 PM 3/31/09 “Thanks sass, have you hiked the entire trail? I believe Jim Dufresne's trail description states that the best sections are from Clear Lake rd east to Green Lake, then from Green Lake to Silver Lake. Maybe we'll start at Mt.Hope rd. instead of Big Portage Lake, any idea what the parking is like here? Again according to Dufresne's book, there is a parking area off Mt.Hope rd, that I think is mainly for people day-hiking to Sackrider Hill? last edited: 3/31/09 7:00:50 PM” 7:20:54 PM 3/31/09 “Yeah, but not all at once. Birch has done it in one fell swoop. Wish I could join you guys, but I have Brownie field trips and baby showers and all kinds of other nonsense.” 5:23:30 AM 4/01/09 Hey Tom! “Hi Tom, Can you meet us at the Sackrider TH on Mt.Hope rd, by 10:00am or is this too early? I know you've got a much longer drive than us, so if you need more time, just name your time then? Please let me know by tomorrow if possible, as this will then effect what time that Larry and I will meet at Silver Lake. With this in mind we could start as late as 12:00pm. But I need to hear from you first, as I've already set up my meet time with Surpac (Larry) at our endpoint , for 9:00am and won't change this, until I hear from you. last edited: 4/02/09 3:49:06 AM” 4:11:56 AM 4/02/09 Friday at noon “Hi Mike, It will take me 4 hours plus I'm loosing an hour because of the time difference. I'll send you an email after I locate how to get to Loveland rd. Hope the rain won't be too bad this weekend. Tom” 7:47:32 AM 4/02/09 “Ok Tom sounds good, we'll meet you at 12:00pm at the Loveland rd TH, which will actually be parking for the Horseman's CG, I believe? I can post a Google map link for you here later today. Which will be for you, coming from the west. Check back here later tonight. Mike” 8:51:35 AM 4/02/09 Loveland rd Directions “Hi Tom, here's a link below for the Loveland Rd TH http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=US-127+N&daddr=42.335403,-84.131241&geocode=FQwNhQIdMsv4-g%3B&hl=en&mra=mi&mrsp=1,0&sz=14&sll=42.333042,-84.127636&sspn=0.04708,0.077248&ie=UTF8&ll=42.328093,-84.217758&spn=0.376667,0.617981&z=11 last edited: 4/02/09 3:38:37 PM” 4:01:28 PM 4/02/09 << back to Deam Wilderness page
