He seems like an extraordinary guy, I'm so glad he's safe. (I looked for a thread on this, I hope I'm not repeating things)

Here's to Captain Phillips and the SEALS who got him out! A great combination of patience and readiness to strike very swiftly when needed.

to steel mutt's observation the shooting was pretty amazing...i know they're seals and all but even still, wow...3 simultaneous head shots both from and two a boat...i'm not sure what the sea conditions were like but even in the best of conditions there's still some movement

LOL@nimble and thrifty,

One of my associates is a former SEAL. Someone asked him about the "balancing a ball" thing. His reply,"They cover that while we are learning to play the airhorns."

Did you see how the Italians were pissed because 'we' spent all of that time and effort to save ONE person, when there are like 10 Italians being held hostage by pirates... I guess that they are hoping 'we' rescue them as well.

Heck Center of mass is tough in those conditions.

Guys the President is the Commander in Chief. He is responsible for all actions the military takes and screws up. So congrats PrezBO

I would like to see the Pirate Home bases (at least the boats) knocked out but then....

ROTFLMAO....

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,517231,00.html

Ron Kuby, a New York-based civil rights lawyer, said he has been in discussions about forming a legal team to represent the Somalian.

"I think in this particular case, there's a grave question as to whether America was in violation of principles of truce in warfare on the high seas," said Kuby.

"This man seemed to come onto the Bainbridge under a flag of truce to negotiate. He was then captured. There is a question whether he is lawfully in American custody and serious questions as to whether he can be prosecuted because of his age."

In the end the Captain of the Bainbridge and the crew will be prosecuted by PrezBO for violating the "rights" of the Pirate....

The teenager's arrival came on the same day that his mother appealed to President Barack Obama for his release. She says her son was coaxed into piracy by "gangsters with money."

My baby din't do nuffin! We want asylum in the US! And we want to bring over 150 of our immediate family, too.

Personally I agree with the lawsuit.. They did not have the right to capture him.

Let this be a lesson.. Next time they need to release him back into the water. Of course they can keep his boat since that was used in the act of a crime...

Nah 32 you hang him from a halyard and let him slowly go through the props...LOL

I think just dust the pirates and take the empty boat and let em drift back to shore. I guarantee after a few empty boats come home the theory of piracy will lose its luster.

Sure Chili....um but our justice system does not reach outside the borders of the Nation....as many Americans find out each year.

The somali pirates are international criminals. You know the Brits are in a bit of a pickle because their system was changed to give Brit rights to the Pirates and BOOM they really have to endanger sailors to impede pirates.

No actually DrunkO Nuremburg was a "world court" of sorts. The fact that American (actually Texas Jurisprudence proceedures) were used was because the officer in charge had one of his JAG officers draw up the proceedural methods for the trial.

That lawyer later went on to found a law firm in Dallas, Texas and I remember seeing the documents from Nuremburg on his wall when my father worked for him.

See DrunkO its called history. As for our legal system the President really has no way to Execute (hence the Executive Branch) the laws of our nation outside our borders. Hard to take but there are lots of American Twits rotting in foriegn jails who were arrested on bad charges, improperly interrogated and then sentenced on trumped up crap.

Excellent example would be 44 US Citizens on AMERICAN SOIL in an Embassy who are taken hostage for 400 or so days by the Government of that nation. Eventually the US passes a law allowing them to seek damages..but Cartuh 2.0 just shot them down.

32oz, that was merely my interpretation of HyWay's interpretation of what I posted.

Of course I used some of his actual words, though they were re-arranged to have the maximum nonsensical value and to convey homosexual in-you-end-OH!! about two of my dearest friends and tormentors with whom I enjoy so much delightful banter and abuse.

According to HyWay Rules none of it has to bear any resemblance to anything posted either here or on a schithouse wall or anywhere by anyone living or dead.
