Seneca Rocks Trip 4/25 Weekend
Does anyone want to do a backpacking trip this weekend (4/24-26) at Seneca Rocks or somewhere in Northern WV. I know its short notice but the weather is great and there has to be ample water. I was thinking Hike 1-2 miles on friday, Hike 10-17 on saturday, and 5-6 on sunday.
If you have any ideas let me know.

Are you thinking North Fork Mt trail or Spruce knob area?

Which one would you recommend? I haven't done either. I'm at work right now so I don't have time to research them until I get home, which will be around 7. Working late so I don't have to work much on Friday.

What are the miles of each?

North Fork Mountain Trail is about 24 miles long and you will need to spot a car at both ends.

About 30 west of Seneca Rocks is Otter Creek Wilderness Area with several possibilities for loop hikes.

Look at the maps on the forest service site at the other wilderness areas, too.

If you go to Otter Creek be prepared for creek-crossing. I use sandals.
Also.........after heavy rains Otter Creek is not crossable.

Frig,
I think North Fork looks pretty good. If your interested in going, we could do the whole thing. If not I'll just do half of it. probably similar to the 2005 trip you went on.
