The Diva Cup
If you haven’t tried the diva cup, check it out. This little thing is great for handling that time of the month.

Once you have mastered the insertion, you will have no leaks. It can be emptied 2-3 times and can be worn up to 12 hours. It also has no impact on the environment. Feminine hygiene disposal is a problem worldwide: over 12 billion sanitary pads and 7 billion tampons are dumped into landfills in the US along each year the U.S. along. I will say don’t plan to buy and use it without having some time to get use to it and your body, it’s not like other feminine products. This is somewhat similar to inserting a diaphragm, but easier and it doesn’t seem go in as far. For places where there is no running water like backpacking, be sure to carry some wipes with you. It comes with instructions for insertion and removal. Be sure to read the removal instructions. If having problems with removal, use the “bear down” technique. It's worth a try if your looking for something different. I love it!

Bring antiseptis wipes or in the winter (wipes freeze) antiseptic soap (carried in a warm pocket) and a super towel. Always be aware of toxic shock syndrome.

"...over 12 billion sanitary pads and 7 billion tampons are dumped into landfills..."

Good. That is what landfills are designed for. Let's face it - we have waste. Don't let anyone fool you - landfills work magnificently.

The problem is the feminine things that get flushed down toilets. Sewage treatment facilities do not address this problem as well as landfills.

According to the information there is no risk of toxic shock syndrome, but if you have ever had toxic shock syndrome, they recommend to not use it.

Plus less weight/supplies you have to carry while backpacking and less to pack out.

I haven't bought a pad or tampon in 12 years. Saves TONS of money.
Note: antibacterial soaps, wipes should not be used w/ this product. Just regular soap.

Sassafras is correct.
Using antibacterial soaps could destroy a woman's natural flora which could lead to problems like yeast infections.

Toilet, cathole dug for, anywhere else the contents will biodegrade nicely.

Preferably nowhere near camp in bear country. :o

I don't know if I'd be brave enough to use that contraption.

I'm a little confused by this statement...

"2 models have been developed to meet the needs of every woman: Model 2 is for women over 30 years old and/or for women who have delivered vaginally or by C-section"

I'm 31...does this mean my anatomy is the same as a woman who has delivered vaginally??? I can't imagine that turning 30 stretches your vagina as much as an infant! Honestly, I didn't feel a thing when I turned 30. :)

Apparently they think there is some slackening of the pelvic floor muscles as we age, with or without birthing vaginally.

Kegels eh? Keepin' 'em spiffy.

I'm pretty sure cracking walnuts with ones hooha is just as easy at 30 as it is at 29. ;)

is this thing better than Instead Cups?

Personally I like the diva cup better than the instead cups. It's less messy and easier to insert and remove. It's along the same idea but holds more and needs removed and cleansed less frequently.

When I purchased my Keeper it was simply a matter of if you had given birth or not, not age.
