Man, what a trip!
3 days of beautiful water, fat Brown bass and perfect sandy beaches to camp on. There were a lot of "river boats" coming up from the White River to fish but it was still awesome. A little too windy but we didn't mind too much. Guitars and bourbon...

We tried our hand at a new EXTREME sport, that as far as I know, we invented....after dark rapid running.....long story but let me just say....it's FAR STUPIDER THAN IT SOUNDS...DON"T TRY THIS AT HOME!

Did that trip last spring. Great float. I agree that the riverboats coming in from the White are a pain. That is a desinated wilderness area and motorized equipment including boats should be banned by the definition of a wilderness area. I am heading up there next week to float Steel Creek to Dillards Ferry if it is not raining. Looking forward to it.

Was that a shot?

That was a shot. Strats' friends are likley redneck hippie dope smokin moonshiners with a penchant for bottle rockets and firearms.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

It's people like that who give the Ozarks a bad name. We don't need more loud fat drunks on the rivers and forests.

I never inferred they were loud or fat - likely not either.
The Ozarks have a bad name? With who?

stratdewd wouldn't give any area a bad name. I have hiked with him and just can't see him being loud or drunk on the river or trail.

I have hiked with Strat and his family. They seemed like good folks to me. I think I was the fat drunk in the bunch which is why I was wondering if that was a shot.

lmao, he11 no hillbilly! you're good people, so is garfum and chilli! naw, I was just tryin to make a lame excuse for not inviting you, hillbilly, cuz I felt guilty for not asking you. I actually though about it but the more people that go on a trip like this, the more complications you have to deal with. Like I said, we need to do another hike man, Maybe CHilli could join us sometime.

Man, those dang river boaters really were annoying. I've always done this trip in the late summer and you seldom see many people. This time, fisherman were everywhere. And they looked at us like we ere the intruders into their river....We did meet a couple of them that were real nice folks.

Mutt, Kiss my ozark a$$!

I understand Strat, I was just messing with ya. I was heading to the Mulberry this morning and then the Buffalo tomorrow with Coastie. Looks like a flood out. water is a rocking in both rivers. I look forward to meeting Chili and NGB. I am game for a hike and float whenever.

Dood - that's what was cool about that trip in late summer. Low water means too many gravel bars for the john boats. Lots of paddling, slow going, getting out of the canoe and dragging, and not many others willing to do the same.

yeah dood, this spring trip[ had a cool vibe also though. Man, we hiked up to the top of Woodcock Bluff and got some sweet pictures. I'll e-mail them to ya'll when I get them . We also saw several bald eagles and some hogs and deers too. The fishing was truely stupendous. The rock bass were fat and tasty.

Hillbilli, remember I live right by the white river, near Lake Sequayah, anyway the water is RAGING under the bridge right now. I wouldn't want to be in a boat, even with my new wetsuit. I got it at that Sportsmans paradise store in Rogers. They are going out of business,. I only paid $25 for a longsleeve wetsuit! SCORE!

oh yeah Garf, I left the bottle rockets at home...
