A real life adventure! “Approximate dates: 4/11/09 - 4/22 Melbourne Hospital 4/22 - 5/12 Life Care Center 5/12 - 5/21 Melbourne Hospital 5/21 - present I've been real busy meeting beautiful nurses! The first was Dorothy, from St. Johns Island. She claims to be the last virgin to leave the Virgin Islands. And, when she gave me a sponge bath, she left no spot unsponged! The last one was Bambi. with a name like that I expected to meet a dancer from one of the local night spots. She did turn out to be beautiful and was a very experienced camper and canoeist. We had a great time exchanging stories. After my first admission to the hospital, they managed to remove a lot of weight and fluids from my body with medicines. Then I spent 20 days in a Life Care Center. The weight and fluids filled my body again. So on May 12th I returned to the hospital. This time they used a machine to drain my blood, slowly, to extract the extraneous fluids and to return the blood to my body. This was the second time that they have tried this in this hospital, but other machines exist across the country. Their first patient walked out of the hospital in very happy spirits. I should be so lucky! For a kicker they gave me a jump start! This served to stop my heart. They let my heart restart on it's own. This was supposed to stop my atraina fibulation for a while. It worked! It appears that they ran the machine too long. Some of my body started to fail, like my kidneys. My blood pressure was ridiculously low and I was transferred to Intensive Cardiac Care, At the same time they discovered the medicine that appeared to be causing my trouble. So they tried to get get most of it out of my system. I recovered, somewhat, and in two days I was out of ICC. I thought I was headed for Bambi's area, but ended one ward away. She did come over to see me. Actually, I wanted to return to the nurse from the V.I. I could use another good sponge bath. From TV I learned about lung fish and large white ants in Uganda. Then I had a long wait for lunch before returning to the Life Care Center. 5/17 - At an appointment with my primary doctor, I was told that I almost died twice while in the hospital. My heart is very, very weak. So in a few weeks I'll be going to Gainesville, where they might be able to help me further. Stem cell insertion in my heart is a strong possibility By the way, I learned that the nurse did not use any sponges during my sponge bath. They may have cleaned my blood, but there is still a lot of love in my heart for each of you. Happy hiking.” 12:52:35 PM 5/29/09 “By the way, I learned that the nurse did not use any sponges during my sponge bath. LOL! Also, I may be able to get-off the insulin in about four months. I still attend and watch at my advanced Martial Arts Class and at my previous class. My daughter takes me and it is about a four hour evening once a week. I do ask questions, make suggestions and help a few folks with their techniques.
