Beer and pierogies - yum. Have you ever tried them deep fried?

For goodness sake, don't use hydrogenated oil!

Yes, my mom used to deep fry..

I would then rip them open... eat the crispy dough first and the inside stuffing last...

then she started pan frying or sauteing them..

my sister now makes a perogie caserole that is awesome...

19 days...

All this talk of food. Eat to live people, not live to eat!

Except post-hike.

Off to make lunch now, and wishing it was pierogies. Potato and cheese to be exact. mmmmm

The food must REALLY SUCK where you're at if you can't wait to get here. These people have no tastebuds.

yum... yeah, you sure don't live to eat...

Don't worry, once you get back out there hiking, and started doing marathon hikes, you can pretty much eat just about anything...

Yeah, can't wait.

I'm thinkin' double bacon cheeseburger. Maybe with a side of Ben & Jerrys. And a diet coke 'cause that makes it A-ok.

It does suck.. Its pretty much just your Friday's Ocharley's BWW etc etc crap...

even the food at the local dives pretty much blows...

Would kill for a few halupkies right about now...

a little pig stomach...

some fastnachts...

Been there... had them... We go with my parents everyyear... My dad and i act like kids again and ride the coasters... He's 76...

They then take the kids to the pizza place.. while they are eating the pizza, I go get a dozen perogies...

They are awesome!!!!

You're mad sir. You should be lounging and carb-loading before a 30K, not bopping along the AT.

9:30? That'll get you to CP's early-ish.
spindlette

Sounds good.. I'm probably going to have to call you for directions..

Now we are doing this at a slow jog right?

I'll meet you guys there. Once we get to the top of the hill a slow jog would be doable as long as you're cognizant of the malignant ankle-biters along the way . . .

I-78 exit 30
R on Northmont Ave
R on Chestnut St
Bear right at N 4th
Straight on Reidenhour Rd
Right on Mountain Rd
Left on Reservoir Rd
You'll know when it's time to park . . . especially at 9:30 on a Saturday morning.

I was joking about the jog..

hey we are heading south to north, so you can meet us in PC if it is closer... we'll leave on car at windser furnace and head from there to the deli...

How's the weather up there Stretch??
spindlette

Just did the stretch between Little Gap and Lehigh Gap, and then headed back to Little Gap.. 10.6 miles - 3.5 hours.. Saw 2 thru-hikers, one Duncanon-ME section hiker and a day hiker...

1.3 miles north of Lehigh Gap they have rerouted the trail... It looks like they just went in with a bushhog and started whacking.. I was actually trail jogging for a little thats how UN-PA like the trail was...

Took some picts and will post them when I get back in town...

I don't know, but there were some weird looking pagen cairns on the summit near the reroute...

Definately signs of some sort of ritual... I should have been up there a few days ago for the solstace...

MarkO

I am going to 'run' the 15k and then see how far I get on the 30k... then I plan to pig out bigtime afterwards....

My goal is a mid pack finish... I'm pretty much just doing this for the fun of it...
