Or go here since I don't know what age group you are looking for click the boy scout link in the top row and you can get to a pretty detailed list by a link list on the left side of the page.

I thought they taught that stuff at the Boy Scouts, look in the manual.

I give online lessons in LNT. I do the training via email. The only lessons that I don't do online is "Cathole Engineering and Etiquette". For that I need to be consulted in person. $50. I take Paypal. No checks and if you aren't 100% satisfied i guarantee no money back.

Pick up after yourself, bury your #&%!$ and don't build a fire.

There you're trained.

i know it's simple, but i was wanting a card saying i was trained in it for my camp. the Boy Scouts are just getting into this, and yes i know just how sad that sounds. anyways, i'll just have to wait until the Scouts are offering the training and get in on it then. i'm much too busy with summer camp to get it now as it appears to be a weekend long course.

When i was involved in BSA 8 or 9 years ago LNT was in the Handbook and taught to the Scouts - it's been part of the "program" for quite some time. The BSA is NOT just now getting into it. Maybe they're just now developing a 'training' program, but the ethic is not new to BSA.

And a weekend long traing program dedicated solely to LNT seems silly. It would be more appropriate to simply have the LNT priniples be part of their overall adult leader training and part of Wood Badge and every other training program.

i think it depends on the troop. ive seen some pretty large, loud bsa outings. of course, that doesnt mean that they dont lnt in other ways, but i also wouldnt be surprised to see them chopping down trees to make makeshift shelters, either

I was impressed by the groups that came into Martins Fork over memorial day. All were quiet...in fact much better than most TT trips. Broke camp and left with hardly a sound.

I need to go back and check. but I believe that there actually is a Leave No Trace Emblem that you can earn as a Webelos, and to earn certain pins needed for Arrow of Light you have to earn the LNT Emblem.

In addition, on many maps including PATC maps there are the LNT guidelines.

Unfortunately, as was the case with the group of 27 scouts that invaded the BlackRock Hut last Thursday they aren't followed..

Also on a lot of Back country permits (including those for SNP) they are listed, right down to max group size etc..

I questioned a ranger on Sat how a group of 27 scouts could have gotten a permit, and after looking at me in disbelief he said that unfortunately there just osn't enough staff to enforce everything...

I don't think he really believed me until I told him about the one leader asking who hadn't eaten dinner, because he had brought 27 mountain houses and there was one left...

oh well...

last time i was at martin's fork (a few weekends ago) i was pleased to hear people #&%!$ing in the parking lot about tickets the ranges issued them. one group was camped on the trail... walked through their camp on the way to mine.

Most Scout Troops that i've been around set a good example and follow the 'rules'. However, not all of them do and some are just downright irresponsible.

Yall just try to remember, it's generally the leaders fault when you have a troop that is making asses of themselves in the forest.
