In the past I call kirk the day before letting him know exactly where we are and that we will be ready crack of daylight next morning. Who ever is last will be all alone out there. for about an hour....and it never will be me since I always get up with the chickens and have already packed up everything except Tent,Pad and sleeping pad.....

I believe Jackstraw was the last one out there last trip and he was telling me about that feeling....ALL.........ALONE......LOOKING........360......DEGREES.......AT......EVERY.....WHISER.......OF.......ANY.....SOUND......HEAD.....ROTATING........LIKE......AN.......OWL..........HEHEHE.....oh yes.......EVERY.......HAIR.......ON.......HIS.......BACK.....................STANDING..........STIFF..........and his BUTT tighter that a Kentucky well diggers arse.

It will take Kirk several hours to get us all out and another 6 to 7 hrs to get back to Anchorage. I will be the first one out as he does a fly by showing me our routes looking at stream levels, BEAR and MOOSE activity and the exact locations of Air Strips.
Being first out I will be carrying heat. I supose the last one could carry momma 44....so they too can shoot themselves in the head when GRIZZ comes a knockin....

Excerpt from Wilderness Survival

To ford a swift, treacherous stream, apply the following steps:

* Remove your pants and shirt to lessen the water's pull on you. Keep your footgear on to protect your feet and ankles from rocks. It will also provide you with firmer footing.

i guess it's not "cd" anymore... i bought the new one for 99 bucks (great deal) and it's a bomber tent. i gave my old one to my son and have the new one in a bag next to me. on heck of a shelter. it's not my 'berg but it's still a damn nice shelter esp at the price point. you can buy carbon fiber poles for it with fiberplex and the weight drops WAY down. cool.

If I was not carrying sat phone...extra battery, 44 mag with ammo and thigh holster, walkie talkie with spare battery, super Titan tarp.....I could drop 6.4 lbs.
