Uh, I mean the lady.:)” 9:17:37 PM 3/17/10 “Hey I expect that will be a great camera. I have the older version 10MP with 12X zoom, it was a great camera, with the exception of the on/off switch, with froze and broke under extreme conditions. Hopefully they have improved on the switch design on this model. Any word on when this model will be available?” 12:16:11 PM 3/18/10 “Bring a sturdy tripod for 30X. My only problem with cameras like that is that the aperture is opposite of what it needs to be. At the wide end it has f/2.8...well, typically when shooting wide angle landscape you want f/8-f/11. Then at the long end (270mm on the HQ) you want to be shooting a wide aperture for animals, features, etc...f/2.8 but f/5.6 is the widest it can do at max which is closest to a landscape setting. I looked at the specs but it didn't say at what range the aperture changes. I would guess that the best range for long shots with that camera would be half zoom 15x or less.” 12:33:58 PM 3/18/10 “I iz Dub.” 3:49:13 PM 3/19/10 “Here is what is listed. Wide: F2.8 / F11.0, Telephoto: F5.6 / F11.0” 6:30:20 PM 3/19/10 “Yea ha Spring is in the air and ALASKA is in our mind.” 2:54:48 PM 3/23/10 “Hi Fridge-I sent an email, and if you knew me I could understand you purposely ignoring my email, but since you don't I assume it got stuck in junk mail or something. May I please get the details on the $ and such on the trip? Emily Karbellas@hotmail.com” 4:29:39 PM 3/23/10 “Woo hoo, another girl on the trip!!! I think we will out number the men!!!” 4:33:17 PM 3/23/10 “Fridge, Alaska is always on your mind...I think you'd marry it if you could.” 8:04:42 PM 3/23/10 “Karbellas You have mail!” 2:42:46 AM 3/24/10 “I got the okay from work today. Yes I am planning to stay there during the summer. Refrigerator 2:59:57 PM That's awesome, Fridge! No reviews yet. http://www.optyczne.pl/2795-nowo%C5%9B%C4%87-Fujifilm_HS10_-_zdj%C4%99cia_przyk%C5%82adowe.html” 2:40:22 PM 3/25/10 “Welcome aboard, Kabellas! I look forward to meeting you.” 6:34:47 PM 3/25/10 “I just picked up a Canon S90 as a pocket P&S camera to backpack with in addition to my SLR. Ken Rockwell who is usually a big Nikon fan said that it was the best P&S camera ever made. I think he's right. Reasons I liked it....f/2 lens and two control rings. Some SLRs don't have 2 control rings and for a P&S to have them is extraordinary. It also fits in my pocket which was another requirement. It shoots in RAW which was just icing on the cake and has the same sensor that the G11 has which is one of Canon's flagship P&S's. I tried it out in the store before I bought it and used one of the rings for a close focus and the other for aperture control...@ f/2 and in manual I was able to do an awesome Macro with lots of bokeh of another camera...soon as I saw the shot on the screen I knew I had to have it. I probably would have taken more pictures with this in Alaska than my SLR if I had it. It also shoots 28mm wide on the wide end and around f/4.9 on the long end which is the best I've seen. Although the optical zoom isn't as long as some of the bigger P&Ss. I'll be shooting some test pics with it at Tecumseh this weekend. I think it will be a great BPing camera since it's small and light and does wide angle and has the ability to shoot in RAW for HDRs. Probably not the best choice for shooting wildlife off in the distance but at the same distance on other cameras it will do f/4.9 where others will shoot f/5.6, f/6 or higher meaning less bokeh.” 7:37:51 PM 3/25/10 “It looks like you could use some reinforcements, Fridge.” 10:23:12 AM 3/26/10 “Go with us MarkO!” 3:05:15 PM 3/26/10 “Karbellas, send me an official e mail that yop are going!” 4:26:48 AM 3/27/10 “Fridge- Hi! I actually sent you that email and the very next thing I did was see your post. Tango - Majority rule by Girls! I have learned a lot by watching Power Puff Girls when I was in college. Can't wait to meet everyone! I am a chemistry teacher, so if you have any questions on high school tru advanced biochemistry let me know. I also teach chemistry for nurses. I know nothing of biology tho. I took Biology for Non Biology Majors years ago and had limited success.” 12:44:53 PM 3/28/10 “Nice to e-meet you Karbellas! Can't wait to really meet you!!!” 1:18:10 PM 3/28/10 “Let's see.......a nurse, an EMT and now a chemistry teacher. Tango is a gun-slinger. Look out you grizzlies!” 1:20:26 PM 3/28/10 “My knowledge of first aid consists of a CPR course and a 2 day class to become "Wilderness first aid certified." So I'm glad we have a nurse and an EMT. I teach nurses stuff about atoms and why things from the show MacGyver would work (or not work)-but they get to medical stuff after my class.” 1:30:13 PM 3/28/10 “Tango - Majority rule by Girls! I have learned a lot by watching Power Puff Girls when I was in college. karbellas 12:44:53 PM 3/28/10 So do we rename this trip? ALASKA POWER PUFF EXPEDITION I like it!” 2:09:03 PM 3/28/10 “MarkO we would love to have you go with us.” 2:11:30 PM 3/28/10 “Dang! Tell me about it, Fridge. Last year was an expensive year for vacations.” 7:22:00 PM 3/29/10 “The trip should be called "Saving the world before bedtime" and we should all dress like http://www.impawards.com/2002/powerpuff_girls.html however males may substitute kilts for skirts.” 8:29:09 AM 3/30/10 “I feel for you Dub. I was on trip-restriction for the last two years. My greatest journey was a 1 night trip to DC w my sis. We live 3 hr from DC.” 8:40:16 AM 3/30/10 “The nights are so short, you will want to stay up. That was nice last year.” 10:25:17 AM 3/30/10 “Jackstraw has a kilt. Didn't wear it last year maybe because of those pesky skeeters. Can you imagine swatting at skeeters between your legs.” 1:43:44 PM 3/30/10 Jump to Page << prev
