Fridge--LOL that is too funny! Harry's the only man I've ever seen hiking in a kilt. Gave my daughter and I a lot to talk about after I met him on the JMT. Gemini had us laughing for hours--she couldn't handle the whole Braveheart concept!

No, I don't wear a kilt. Probably be comfy though. Mosquitos in AK could be a problem that time of year.

I have reserved a 15 passanger VAN with a Trailer to carry all our gear. I had to put a 250 dollar down payment already and will pay the remailing 30 days prior to our arrival. So we now have Hostel and Transportation already set. Working out some minor details with our Bush Pilot and we will have this trip all wrapped up ready to go.

I sure would like to have one of those Alaskan Amber cold brews right now!

Maybe you already heard about this, or at least were aware of it, while on your recent trip up there?

Didn't hear about it but I do know where Skolai Pass area is located. That's an area well known to Backpackers.
Why don't you sign up ncthiker and go with us to an area no one goes too and navigation is as important as your food.
If anyone does have a medical problem we have a plan set using a sat phone. It may take several hrs to get you out and you might already be dead but at least you can go home a little quicker, and you won't die alone.
encouraging!!!

Very tempting
Thanks for the invite Fridge, not really sure, I'm able to pull off such a Gig yet, although, I've dreamed of such.
I drove out to Alaska in 1976. We did it mostly for the drive, and I didn't even get to see any of the interior.
The drive alone was great though, well, it was, once we got into Northern BC, and then into the Yukon.
I'll never forget catching Grayling, like Bluegill, one after another, and this was right off the Hwy. too.
I remember driving past Wrangell St Elias, and wondering which peak was Mt. Logan. All the high peaks were covered in snow, and was quite a site, it looked like you could almost reach out and touch them, right from the Alaskan Hwy.
