Best links for me to get maps? thanks” 6:08:20 AM 5/16/10 “elevations will 7000 to 4000 ft. I ordered special maps from mytopo.com Nabesna is the area then look for Mt Jarvis and Grizzly Lake.” 7:44:00 AM 5/16/10 “fridge. it will be in the mail priority today.” 4:08:38 AM 5/17/10 “Thanx Bro.” 1:52:01 PM 5/17/10 “We have officially 13 of us going on this trip. Deposits have been paid and flights to Anchorage have been booked. Approx 20 miles of Backpacking in 4 days. Some of the best views you will encounter in your life. No trails, No roads to cross, No darkness, No shelters or privies. Pure Wilderness. WRANGELL-ST.ELIAS game preserve and they mean it when they say game preserve. You will see more scat and animal signs than you have ever seen on a backpacking trip, so don't bother to bury your scat....it will just be a part of the system and smell... uh... I meant fit right in. Silver Back Grizz, Caribou, Moose, Wolves, Arctic ground squirrels, Eagles. You will see many wild flowers like no place you have ever seen.” 2:00:38 PM 5/18/10 “I loved those long days last year Fridge, that was somethin different.” 7:51:19 PM 5/18/10 Dealing with bears (on PCT) “http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVS1UfCfxlU&feature=player_embedded Might be able to extrapolate for grizz in Alaska. last edited: 5/18/10 8:23:51 PM” 8:17:11 PM 5/18/10 “You will need to show me exactly how this is done by a demonstration Tango. What if Grizz in a she?” 2:27:13 AM 5/19/10 “Hey what happened to the Cranberry trip under 'trips' for Memorial Day weekend.” 5:01:50 AM 5/19/10 “You heading down to WV eggs?” 8:55:08 AM 5/19/10 “yeah second gear and I are planning on arriving Friday about noon if we don't get lost in them there hills.” 11:43:23 AM 5/19/10 “Jackstraw I received your info today...thanks man.” 1:54:33 PM 5/19/10 “awesome.” 1:58:43 PM 5/19/10 “Same nerve that runs there in a male runs there in a female. But I think a female can be reasoned with!!! (tee hee)” 7:00:23 PM 5/19/10 “yea says you or who?” 9:53:10 PM 5/19/10 “The pudendal nerve is a mixed somatic and autonomic nerve in the pelvic region which is a large branch of the sacral plexus (L4-5, S1-4) that innervates the external genitalia of both sexes, as well as sphincters for the bladder and the rectum. It originates in Onuf's nucleus in the sacral region of the spinal cord. (sorry about the cut and paste but I'm on my way to horizontal)” 10:30:40 PM 5/19/10 “Laymans terms! Get to the point.” 1:58:44 PM 5/20/10 “The pudendal nerve innervates the external genitalia of both sexes A kick or knee between the legs of either sex hits the pudendal nerve and can incapacitate either gender!” 2:12:06 PM 5/20/10 “i never!” 2:56:30 PM 5/20/10 “Well maybe you should!!!” 3:46:35 PM 5/20/10 “I wouldn't do that to a female. Bad ....very bad” 4:04:06 PM 5/20/10 “I thought you were pulling a Scarlett O'hara on me. Said breathlessly "Wehll I, nevah" But don't ever say never! There are some bada$$ chicks out there that will shoot soon as look at you! Sad though it may seen.” 4:44:18 PM 5/20/10 “When is everyone going back? My flight is leaving July 12 at 9pm, giving me a day to do a little more exploring. Anyone else staying that would like to rent a car with me?, maybe check out Denali?” 6:27:03 PM 5/20/10 “We leave the 10th at 11:15 PM” 8:02:47 PM 5/20/10 “Sunny I leave on the 11th.” 1:46:10 PM 5/21/10 “I leave on the 10th.” 1:49:02 PM 5/21/10 “im heading back sunday night. 9pm” 11:13:30 PM 5/21/10 “Well, if y'all are leaving early I'll just have to find someone else to entertain me for a couple days!” 2:48:28 PM 5/22/10 “Well there is the Polar Bar...Jackstraw will fill you in as to what to expect.” 3:23:05 PM 5/22/10 8:49:30 PM 5/22/10 “Can't wait to get there http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/bear-feeding-frenzy-campsite-bear-attack.html” 4:16:10 AM 5/24/10 “Now ya went and done it Eggs.....everybody will pitch tents so close to each other they will be able to use each others tent stakes.” 1:50:52 PM 5/24/10 “Might not even sleep in mine. Just lay awake all night starring into the darkness, outside my tent. Wait it won't be dark. No problem I'm only ascard of the dark. Now I can leave my tent stakes home and save 3 ounces, sweet.” 2:49:41 AM 5/25/10 “ants and skeeters will eat you. Last year Jackstraw had gazillions of these tine critters on his sleeping pad when left outside his tent for a short while.” 1:58:53 PM 5/25/10 “This sounds like the best place on earth. Remind me why I'm going again. Oh that's right the meat pies.” 4:07:32 PM 5/25/10 “Grizz patties and Moose nuggets.” 4:11:24 PM 5/25/10 ““ants and skeeters will eat you. Last year Jackstraw had gazillions of these tine critters on his sleeping pad when left outside his tent for a short while.” Refrigerator Did you mean to write "outside his tent" or "inside the Polar Pear"? I just want to be thuroughly informed about the native patrons that frequent the high class establishments we will be attending.” 5:37:41 PM 5/25/10 “two of the three bars I went to in new orleans had servere mold problems. they solved this by keeping the lighting really really dim. i think my new orleans bar experiences will help me in creating rapor in the Polar Bear. (I'm extrapolating using the information about the Polar Bear brought up in previous posts)” 5:42:03 PM 5/25/10 “last weekend i wore boots that had fit well for the last 3 years but apparently i should write that they "fitted but no longer" bc my big toe on my rt foot looks like a clear waterballoon connected to a petrified prune. any ideas on cures so its WVa ready by Friday?” 5:47:24 PM 5/25/10 “I'm thinking a hatchet, Boy Scout and a simple accident. That should help the toe issue. Ice maybe, new boots for sure. I hear Fridge is going to be easy on us this weekend so the mileage will be low.” 2:41:05 AM 5/26/10 “Fridge didn't want to over expose you to the elements and rigors of the Cranberry. Just a leisure stroll through a Black Bear sanctuary with river crossings that have strong potential to flood after little rain and critters that crawl and wind through the forest. Oh yea Also some flesh eating plants are found throughout the bog fields so please try and remember that as I have no control over those critter plants.” 2:47:54 AM 5/26/10 “Bogs are acidic wetlands more commonly found in the northern areas of this country and in Canada. The ground in a bog is spongy and consists largely of partially-decayed plant material known as peat. Because of its unique conditions, some unusual plants grow in bogs, including carnivorous or insect-eating plants” 2:50:51 AM 5/26/10 “I though Alcohol consumed and digested by taking in full amounts (tanking up) to overfill your innards and pollute the mind would kill off all those moldy struff and buggy critters.” 2:53:36 AM 5/26/10 “We had bogs in northern MN where I grew up. They were fun to play on. Like a big trampoline almost. Till you fell through and were never seen again :) It's kinda like falling through the ice but but nastier and smellier but warmer.” 5:14:09 AM 5/26/10 “Fridge, will it be real buggy? like needing a headnet for mosquitos? or just normal buggy?” 5:36:27 AM 5/26/10 “eggs that's kinda how the tussoks are kinda like walking on a moon bounce. hard to say on the bugs I brought a head net last year but didn't use it.” 6:23:50 AM 5/26/10 FYI “Hey guys, I just spoke with Manuel at the Backpackers' Hostel and if anyone wants to UPS or Fedex their bag and equipment to there instead of possibly having the airlines lose it or paying extra for it you can have it sent there.” 1:11:56 PM 5/26/10 Jump to Page << prev
