“Eggs/ Food intake for me sets approx the same in weight. 2lbs per day.

Since you are biking and canoeing well I say you are nominated as our SHERPA.”

“My backpack is packed and ready to go. I think I'll be a little over 30 lbs. once I add the bear canister, fuel, water, and some food for the first day.

Picked up a MSR maintenance kit for my water filter and replaced all the parts. Tested and working.”

“Yeah, who is the scout this year?”

“Chin....We have a sherpa this year. Eggs”

“I can only sherpa if I can bring my canoe. Otherwise my loving wife has me pretty well loaded up already. I think that is why she takes me on these trips. So I carry everything for her, set the tent up, and cook for her.”

“I'm home safe and sound from Honduras, had a fantastic trip. Now have 48 hours to shift gears and finish packing, and recover from a little cold. Today (28th) was the 1 year anniversary of last years "coup" that wasn't a coup. There were many demonstrations and road closing, we left very early for the airport to ensure safe travel, and make sure I wasn't stuck in country!”

Arrive Anchorage 6:35PM July 1st. Jackstraw will be ariving June 30th and will pick up karbellas, sunnydayz, fridge, grrrg, mauricio, diane July 1st and eggs, second gear, old (young) man, Amy G, tango, cocohead July 2nd.

We de BUNK from the Hostel at 4:30am and embark from Anchorage at 5:30am.

Arrive in Nabesna at noon and.....the reat is history in the making.”

“AAAAGH! I knew coming back from Honduras 2 days before would be a challenge. I can't focus on packing, will be up very late tonight. Just found a lot of black mold growing in my basement. Don't even know where to begin with dealing with it when I leave my house at 4 am tomorrow! Seems like a sneak attack while I was in the tropics!!”

“So I called my Dad on Tuesday to just say hi and make sure we are already to go. We talk a little about the last few food items and then as I get ready to hang up I say "see you Friday in AK". He says" Friday it's Saturday right, not Friday"

I tell him I think he sent me his itinerary and it was for Friday. I know we have to be there Friday. He seems worried and go to check his flight info.

He called me back and said yeah your right it's Friday. He was glad I mentioned something since he had no plans to be at the airport till Saturday.

I think his trail name is in this story someplace. Day Late comes to mind. We'll have to come up with something tomorrow night at the bar.
