I just found out there is a year-round water spigot near the trail at the entrance to the Mauthe Lake Recreation Area which is a few miles north of Shelter #2 But because I'm not familiar with it, I'm going to cache water near Shelter #2. If you're staying Sunday night and want me to cache a gallon of water for you here, let me know.”

“Yes, please, make it cold, fresh water. With WK being involved I have to be specific, cuz somehow I could end up with warm salt water.”

BTW, are those shelters for sleeping, or just little places to get out of the weather? Are there likely to be many other hikers in the sense of competition for the shelters? Snake Eyes is definitely not sleeping in a shelter with me. He snores and his gas is toxic.”

Could be wrong, but I think the shelters are for getting out of the weather.”

“I've slept on the floor of Shelter #5--okay but lots of gravel dust. Shelter #3 has a sleeping platform that's nice that would fit 2-3 people--maybe 4. Don't know about Shelter #2. Rumor has it that I snore so I'll be tenting out at the perimeter. I have the reservations for all three shelters, so no competition.”
