the locals know it as kistler highway, but it shows up on mapquest as county line road

find linville falls on mapquest. from the 183/221 junction, go for about half a mile or so. where 183 swings northeast, turn right onto kistler highway/county line road goes south

as soon as someone tells me what fricking trailhead we're going to be close to, i can tell y'all the rest, since the people who actually know where the campsite is seem intent on keeping the rest of us in the dark

come into the town of linville falls.turn onto 183 take to first curve and u will just go straight onto gravel road.follow almost 3 miles and camp will be on right.its right at a series of steep hills.ill post road conditions when I get back to the good ole south.my boys and I are at sunday river in maine and the skiing still isn't as good as sugar or beach mtn.new hampshire was good we hiked up tuckerman ravine and went to a place called the flume as well.no pickin parlors no bbq no shine and seems they need electric for every instrument.

karo, it's this simple:

from the 183/221 junction in linville falls, go southeast on 183 for about half a mile to kistler memorial hyway/county line road. turn right and go south on kistler for about 2 miles. it will be on your right, just after the cabin trailhead, and just before the babel tower trailhead

that is all

Last year it hit -4F saturday morning. Saturday only got up to about 10F. Hopefully this year will be much warmer.

Current forecast for trip weekend is as follows according to accuweather:

Friday: increasing clouds high 30 low 14

Saturday: Snow High 28 Low 13

Sunday: clearing High 26 Low 8

I am sure this will change in the comming days.

Crash-How to find camp
1. Drive south on Kistler/rt 1238 until you see a large group of people, dogs, and tents
2. Slow your @ass down so you can visually I.D. vehicles, people, or dogs.
3.Once correct group location is visually verified...park vehicle and set up tent after a group harassment.

Worked for me so I am confident it will for you also...now get your effing panties out of a wad. Want me to bring some xanax to chill you out!

And I doubt that will happen...unless you are flying or maybe moonshine, JB, and Spam(the organizer of this trip) have recently moved out of NC. Unless you are leaving earlier than 5:00 a.m. CDT Friday you will not beat me. Stop being such a Hoosier.
