I have a 9X16 dome tent with 3 rooms and a couple of cots that I was thinking of bringing, if that would work. I was going to use my propane catalytic heater for heat.

beer freezes?”

actually, i dont think it does, or has a much lower freezing point than water, and i believe that is the reason that early settlers drank so much of it

haha...
here's a terrible answer i got from wiki
The freezing point (°C) of beer = (-0.42 × A) + (0.04 × E) + 0.2, where A is the percent of alcohol content by weight, and E is the original gravity of the wort (°Plato). Therefore, each 1% increase in alcohol content lowers the freezing point by 0.42° C and each increase in gravity of 1° Plato raises it by 0.04°C. Thus, no beer will freeze at -1°C, and products at higher alcohol concentrations (including high-gravity brews prior to dilution) will withstand even lower temperatures.

linville gorge rd
ok people i went to the gorge around 4 pm today temp was 4deg. as for the roads they plowed them with a motor grader.very easy drive. you can see the rocks on the road in some places. as for the camp site who ever gets there 1st needs to dig the snow from the plow to get into the camp site, as for fridges site you need to cut a few small tree branches. front wheel drive cars, suvs should be able to get there .. the camp site is 2 miles down the road on the right.thats 2 miles from when you turn onto the dirt road. see you all at camp site. later jb

At this point, I'm planning on leaving Indiana around 6am. It's a 8+hr drive, plus stopping for food. I hope to be there around 3pm.

Crash-how does that work for you?

Coming from Knoxville, Mapquest shows I-40 to I-81 to I-26. From Johnson City to Elizabethton 321 to 19E to 194 to 221. Seems like it would be better to go on down 26 and cut over on 19 through Burnsville.

Considering the possibly snowy conditions, which route is better?
