I'll let the pictures do most of the talking:

We were able to get permits to exit over Mt. Whitney by walk-up, but not by reservation. So the trip entered Horseshoe Meadow, camping at Cottonwood Lakes, Soldier Lake, Rock Creek, Crabtree Meadow, Guitar Lake, and Outpost Camp after climbing Mt. Whitney. All days were 4-6 miles except the Whitney day, which was 11-12. Had some boneheads from Texas join me, including a dude who never backpacked before and a whiny 13 yr old. All made it to the top of Whitney despite the lightning.

This was a very generic Sierra Nevada trip, but a great intro as my first backpacking trip there. I'll plan another public trip next year. It's a long way to travel for most of you, but you might consider coming along anyway.

THANK YOU for captioning!

Those are super pics toejam. They are very enjoyable and it looks like y'all had a great time.

I got a chuckle out of the duct tape one. :-)

Despite the AK trip, I still need a week dose of the high Sierra. In early Oct.
