Photo requestedView Messages“Hello photographers. Would anyone have any interest in taking a picture for a CD cover? We are seven songs into a ten song CD, and I’m trying to find a picture of a bridge… The one I have in mind would be similar to the one seen in Daughtry's video.. but you only see it like 5 seconds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIFp7khqBxs ![]() If you have interest, please email me at towndawg at gmail dot com. Thanks. :)” 9:51:24 AM 9/29/09 “Good luck. Wish I was back east lots of bridges there.” 9:54:09 AM 9/29/09 “I have a couple of people trying to find me a good pic.. but I thought with this network?.. TrailTalk could get it done.” 9:55:26 AM 9/29/09 “The US 49 bridge at Helena, Arkansas would about fit the bill.” 10:00:33 AM 9/29/09 “ ”10:01:24 AM 9/29/09 “I like it.. but i need a picture that is not copywrited.. we actually checked into using bridge in the video.. but attorney fees would be ridiculous. also.. I think i need one that has more of a run down, construction sort of look.. nothing too polished or so generic? last edited: 9/29/09 9:37:03 AM” 10:05:43 AM 9/29/09 “there's a bridge out here called the bridge to nowhere or something like that (no relation to the bridge in Alaska)... apparently they were planning to build a highway through the mountains but scrubbed the project, unfortunately after they build the bridge - so there's no road leading to or from it - it's just this bridge some 4-5 miles from the enarest road. If you like it, I can use it as an excuse to hike out there this weekend and take some shots. This site has a picture of the bridge: http://www.localhikes.com/HikeData.ASP?DispType=4&ActiveHike=0&GetHikesStateID=&ID=4038” 10:07:01 AM 9/29/09 “thats a koo bridge actually.. is that the only vantage point? I'm trying to get a similar angle of that in the picture.. but i do like the bridge.. it's unique.. oh.. i googled it.. yeah.. lots of awesome vantage points.. ![]() ![]() last edited: 9/29/09 9:44:33 AM” 10:09:08 AM 9/29/09 “well, I assume there are ways to get up above it or at bridge level as well... I've never actually been there before, but I've always wanted to see it” 10:21:04 AM 9/29/09 “ ![]() New River Gorge Bridge West Virginia, U.S. Formerly the longest arch bridge in the World. Now it is the second longest arch bridge, after Lupu Bridge. ![]() last edited: 9/29/09 9:57:37 AM” 10:22:51 AM 9/29/09 “pepsi -- I prefer the pic you showed me, cos it shows the water.. If you happen to go out there, PLEASE take several pics from several angles... and i know you prolly know this, but at least 1000 x 1000 resolution is helpful when you are doing a CD jacket. tango -- ANOTHER sweet bridge.. I knew this would be the network to ask.. last edited: 9/29/09 9:55:43 AM” 10:25:16 AM 9/29/09 “absolutely, I'll take a ton of shots for you and if you like any, they're yours - otherwise, no worries - it looks like an awesome hike. How soon do you need them by? I'm now looking at turning this into a quick overnight trip, and that might take a week or two to get together” 10:27:05 AM 9/29/09 “actually, this may have been in the burn area for the Station Fire - which may make for some even cooler-looking shots in a way (assuming they'll still let me in) - I'll have to give the forest service a call and find out” 10:33:14 AM 9/29/09 “Totally different than what others have posted, but this Cribstone Bridge is on Bailey Island in Maine: That's not my photo but I have tons at home if you are interested. It definitely has a run down feel if for nothing else, the rough construction alone. It is one of my favorite bridges in New England.” 10:46:16 AM 9/29/09 “ 10:49:24 AM 9/29/09 “It's not the industrial look you're after but the Natchez Trace Pkwy bridge not too far from you is awful cool.” 11:09:42 AM 9/29/09 ““Totally different than what others have posted, but this Cribstone Bridge is on Bailey Island in Maine: lilmountaingirl 1:46:16 PM 9/29/09 Hey, I've been over that bridge.” 11:17:30 AM 9/29/09 “Just because you found a photo on Google, doesn't mean it's free, especially if you're going to use it for a CD cover. As a photographer, I'd be PO'd if I found out that somebody used one of my photos without permission. Just something to think about.” 11:19:18 AM 9/29/09 “ ![]() ![]() I'd say use the above if it was a CD of Towndawgs vocals.” 11:24:27 AM 9/29/09 “hiking mike -- no no.. I am not suggesting that it's free just cos it's off of google. I am totally aware of implied copyright. (my son and daughter-in-law are lawyers remember?) lilmountain girl -- can you send me what you have? marko -- that one is koo too.. :) opie -- where did you find those??..” 11:32:31 AM 9/29/09 “Will do - won't be until tonight though.” 11:42:12 AM 9/29/09 “Good to hear! I just posted that more for education for others. :) I only have a small bridge in my gallery, probably not what you're looking for. The Bridge River House Good luck!” 11:44:08 AM 9/29/09 “those are google ones also, i just searched for crappy bridges...lol” 12:02:58 PM 9/29/09 “The Natchez Trace Pkwy bridge over Hwy 96 is what dayhiker referred to. ”12:53:02 PM 9/29/09 “That bridge looks out of place to me. Kind of "sci-fi" looking in the middle of the woods.” 1:05:19 PM 9/29/09 “It is unique to say the least.” 1:11:02 PM 9/29/09 “I've got some nice bridge photos from last December's Yellowstone trip. I'll be danged if I can get 'em to post, though. I stink at the interwebs.” 1:13:40 PM 9/29/09 “and it's over 20 years old. I was a teenager the first time I drove under it. I had no idea it was there. It was one of those, where the hell did that come from moments.” 1:16:46 PM 9/29/09 “I really liked the one in the foreground that I saw on a recent trip through the Chesapeake-Delaware Canal: ![]() Though I've heard your voice. This one might be more appropriate: ”1:28:57 PM 9/29/09 “Looks like the first Tacoma Narrows bridge. Harmonic flutter brought it down.” 1:32:04 PM 9/29/09 “Typical engineer over analyzing and completely missing the joke. ;-)” 1:34:47 PM 9/29/09 “I got the joke, but I haven't heard Chris sing. I've heard him snore, so I can imagine how he'd sing though. rimshot” 1:47:34 PM 9/29/09 “LOLz.. Chris doesn't do any of the singing. We have a singer for that. ;)” 2:22:50 PM 9/29/09 “Does it need to have an industrial look in the background or can there be some trees/green?” 2:24:56 PM 9/29/09 “ ”2:55:37 PM 9/29/09 “Dub -- I can edit a picture for background.. I got all the usual photo-editing stuff.. I'm mostly concerned with the bridge itself... Now i know Jeremy (my guitarist) really wants the construction-industrial look -- but I think a rugged back-country bridge would really be awesome. The name of the and is "Bridges Out Of Eden" by the way if you didn't know. ”3:18:19 PM 9/29/09 “Would the Bridge be the Exit to Eden? 4:24:41 PM 9/29/09 “Dood, what do you play? What kind of music is the CD? I was just goofin around about the Barney thing, sorry if I offended your creative intergity....lol I would think that everyone in you extended TT family should get a sample and that way we can fan out across the Country and spread the word” 5:36:07 PM 9/29/09 “Anyone who wants to hear some of the songs.. just send me your email addy.” 9:56:56 AM 9/30/09 “I talked to Jeremy some more regarding the exact picture he is looking for. Here are the critical attributes. 1) Angle. Anyone can shoot a bridge dead on. We want a picture from under the bridge, preferably the same angle as the sample picture from the Daughtry video screenshot. 2) Industrial. Nature pictures are beautiful, and I love them personally, but for the CD cover we are looking for something more urban, more industrial. To be fair, the picture of the bridge is not even really a bridge, it is more of a construction gantry of some kind. 3) Sky. We really like the orange-reddish tint of the sky. Maybe early in the morning, or at dusk – but we like the overall composition of the sample picture. Hopefully that helps some more.” 11:19:15 AM 9/30/09 “You guys paying for this? :-P I'll go take a look at my stuff later today.” 12:43:54 PM 9/30/09 “OK, anything I'm posting is MINE. :-) How about a lock on the Mississippi? Kinda industrial. I can make it silhouette-ish and add red.... 12:51:11 PM 9/30/09 “Again, I can graphically create a faded look with reddish sky... I have a few photos of this bridge if you go to the link and continue going through. OH - and I can get rid of tubers! lol last edited: 9/30/09 12:24:47 PM” 12:54:00 PM 9/30/09 “This is from far away, but enlarged on the bridge and cropped, it would be fuzzy and might really give the look you want with the red added. And folks, that's all for now, until I look at my photo files on the home computer later (the ones not posted on Webshots!) This bridge is a lift bridge at Duluth. Remember, I do have full-size photo files of my photos... How exciting to be putting out a CD/album/whatever it is nowadays! last edited: 9/30/09 12:42:41 PM” 1:07:55 PM 9/30/09 “Liz -- We are paying.. but please be reasonable.. we are operating on a lot of faith that we will be able to complete this project at deficit-zero, which means so far we play enough shows to pay for our studio time.” 1:54:54 PM 9/30/09 “If you looking for an urban feel, I think you need to change the font on the cover.” 2:19:27 PM 9/30/09 “What font? I don't even have the proposed CD cover posted anywhere, do I? Ooooo.. I see what you mean. Well that seems to be the one they like... ![]() last edited: 9/30/09 2:31:12 PM” 2:34:12 PM 9/30/09
