***TT Donation March Blitz**

This challenge only runs until Saturday night at Midnight EST (October 3), so enter now!

Last year, Matt614 (an TT regular who chose anonymity) challenged TT'ers to donate to my walk for Burn Survivors and promised to match the first 10 donations in the 5 to 25 dollar range. Others also agreed to match and we had some real success. I was able to put "The backpackers at thebackpacker.com" as a 1,000 dollar sponsor. I owe Matt614 thanks, not just because of the money he gave, but because of the idea which I am using again.

This year, I challenge TT'ers to donate and I will match any donations (up to 1,000 dollars total). Will anyone else agree to match say, the first 25 dollars of the next 10 donations from Trail Talk? I also issued this challenge at Latta, and I will report the outcomes.

Just use the link below (you don't have to join facebook to use it) and mention the donation here, so I know it is a Latta donation. If you already donated, mention it here and I'll credit the donation to Latta. Either way I will match the donation.

"Most of us cannot imagine the pain burn victims suffer. Imagine if those people had nobody to take care of their needs beyond the typical help a hospital provides. What a wonderful charity to provide such a service. Now is a great chance to give back.

With that in mind, I'll match the first 10 donations of $5.00 to $25.00 for pedxing's charity.
*** I'd also like to encourage at least one other volunteer to "match the match". Let us know here now if you're willing to do that to encourage more sponsors.
It's an easy way to double (possibly triple, or more) the value of the donations.

“A suggestion : Please indicate either in the "notes" when you dotate, or on here, that you are a trailtalker. That way we're matching donations that come from trailtalkers, which is designed to encourage more participation from TTers.

I just went on to match Dan's donation without logging onto facebook - so I see if you are logged on to facebook it will show who you are when you donate. You show up as anonynmous if you aren't logged on.”

“Oops my Bad Stovie. If its a TT donation reported here or on the wall at the cause, I'll match it and Matt614 will match it if it fits his rules.

If its a Latta donation it should be reported on Latta and I'll match it. So far no one else has stepped up here to do a match.

Violin - I'll match it. I doubt Matt would since he is trying to generate new donations. I think I'll start adding and put in the match Sunday as an "anon" - but anouncing how much I put in here, before I do it on facebook (just so y'all know I really did match).

Hopefully other folks will put down some bucks. I like being able to put TT on the donor list it speaks well of backpackers and backpacking.

“Result: I included "The backpackers at thebackpacker.com" as a bronze level (250 level donor) in the walk program, not knowing exactly how it would turn out.

The final tally is 180 for the match blitz including the matches. The overall result was 230 from TT, including Violins earlier donation and my match of it. So we fell just a little short of the Bronze Level in reality. Anyhow, thanks to Matt, Violin, Dunadan, Sunshine and DORK.”
