Meet the People Who Were Passed Over for Obama

Sima Samar, women's rights activist in Afghanistan: "With dogged persistence and at great personal risk, she kept her schools and clinics open in Afghanistan even during the most repressive days of the Taliban regime, whose laws prohibited the education of girls past the age of eight. When the Taliban fell, Samar returned to Kabul and accepted the post of Minister for Women's Affairs."

Ingrid Betancourt: French-Colombian ex-hostage held for six years.

"Dr. Denis Mukwege: Doctor, founder and head of Panzi Hospital in Bukavu, Democratic Republic of Congo. He has dedicated his life to helping Congolese women and girls who are victims of gang rape and brutal sexual violence."

Handicap International and Cluster Munition Coalition: "These organizations are recognized for their consistently serious efforts to clean up cluster bombs, also known as land mines. Innocent civilians are regularly killed worldwide because the unseen bombs explode when stepped upon."

"Hu Jia, a human rights activist and an outspoken critic of the Chinese government, who was sentenced last year to a three-and-a-half-year prison term for 'inciting subversion of state power.'"

"Wei Jingsheng, who spent 17 years in Chinese prisons for urging reforms of China's communist system. He now lives in the United States."

Its interesting to compare the comments on this thread and those on the "Summer Olympics" thread just a few days earlier.

In that one, the righties were overjoyed that the world had rejected Obama and here they are whimpering about positive world opinion of him being premature and undeserved.

The only consistency is the cheering against America and her interests.

You lose an elections and throw your lot in with our enemies. Swell.

When will the Swift-Boaters swing into action and claim that Obama nominated himself?

You guys are slipping, I haven't seen the word "communist" used in this thread to damn Obama.

See if you can work it in, OK?

Another distracting waste of time by the left. Who gives a crap? When you Showbiz Tonight watchers get done with your popularity contest, let's talk about how they are systematically dismanteling the Country right under your upturned noses.

The lamestream media will talk about this tripe for weeks but won't tell you why The Appolo Alliance basically decided where the stimulus money was spent.

They do what their Masters tell them no matter how it harms their own interests.

People who run the Republican party know well that if all the people making less than 100k came together they'd be out of power permanently.

So they pit Whites against Blacks, Blacks against Latinos, Whites against Latinos, the Upper Middle against the Lower Middle.... whatever they have to do to keep their Masters in power.

And Republicans who don't have a pot to piss in swallow it whole ---- WHATEVER bull#&%!$ they're fed.

Obama's surrounded by Marxist and radicals, Marko. That you would continue to ingore the facts speaks volumes about your character.

The only thing Obama did to win this was go on a worldwide ass kissing tour and be the Anti-Bush. Al Gore won this lame award too. Big stank'n deal...

apparently a woman who fights for women's rights in one of the most discriminatory areas of the world. A woman who has actually DONE something loses?

As a change of pace, instead of awarding nobel peace prize to a man involved in 3 wars and assassinating his own citizens, they award it to 3 women

Attacking a mountain fortress, boasting a modern air defense, with far-reaching, pre-positioned assymetric assets, right next to the most vulnerable energy chokepoint in the world? All while wrapping up three other conflicts and cutting military spending? It is to laugh.

No, my derision is justice for...the naive...who swooned over Obama in a religious stupor, only to end up bearing the shame of Obama out-Bushing Bush at warmongering and killing innocent civilians. I tried to tell them not to trust a silver tongued huckster from Chicago politics. I really did.

U.S. drones targeting rescuers and mourners

The CIA’s drone campaign in Pakistan has killed dozens of civilians who had gone to help rescue victims or were attending funerals, an investigation by the Bureau for the Sunday Times has revealed.
