But be warned that most everybody cooks in the lean-to and there have been some spillages by those that will not be named.

In Wyoming they taught us to find a spot where the snow pack is at least 1.60 meters deep, or more, to built a quinzee on it. I guess 1.60m (5ft?) is not going to happen in the Adirondacks, huh?

We used to build quinzees over a frame of branches. That way one does (ever noticed how the speach of everyone becomes more stilted without apostrophies?) not need as much snow.

You kids cannot appreciate how things are so much esaier nowadays.

Sure ting, Pops!

It seems that we had about 1.5 to 2 meters of snow this year. Next year, who knows?

There`s currently 2 - 4" of snow in the Adirondacks. I guess that`s a start.

Rations are depleted. Had 60 pounds of venison go bad this weekend because somehow the freezer door was partially open for several days.

That is rough, Zac.

They are predicting up to 25 cm of snow here, then rain. I am only getting my snow tyres put on at 3.30.

Euro, did you eat kippers when you were living in UK?
Gremlin

I think I never had kippers. Sometimes, when we stayed at B&Bs, they would offer kippers for breakfast, but somehow the idea of eating fish for breakfast was too weird for my continental tastebuds.

I loved the cooked english breakfast, with baked beans, fried eggs, a fried tomato, bacon. I just couldn't stand those little sausages and the black pudding.

The Forces served baked beans for breakfast at Val Cartier mess hall when I was there.
And they let us go back for seconds.......the U.S. Army never did that.
