crash, did you read my post, or glance over it? What makes you think I advocated NOT bashing either party? I will continue to bash both.

I will continue to support my ideals, and oppose those I oppose. How about worrying less about me and more about you. That's sort of the point.

I think it is hilarious listening to the libbies talk about how this is "NOT" a referendum on the PrezBO.

Heck when Bush was President if you had a School President Election in Putztown they talked about how it indicated negative attitudes...LOL

heres a thought, hpd. how about going one step further. instead of just putting an end to the dumbocrat vs repugnantcan, how about putting an end to the stupid-ass left-right libbie-connie clusterfvck? i know xl is incapable, but how about you?

What does that mean? Put an end to designating a side as left-wing or right-wing? Explain.

Look crash, if you think my idea is bad, then continue doing what you are doing. I will continue to call out injustices regardless of who is doing it.

Why are you so concerned about what other people, like XL, is doing? That is the whole problem I outlined. Us versus them.

You just have to find an argument in everything. Go watch baseball and get it out of your system if you have to pick a team. Then let's debate ...

ISSUES.

you think my idea is bad,

i think it's a GREAT idea. im saying you should go FURTHER with it

Why are you so concerned about what other people, like XL, is doing?

just pointing out that he seems incapable of NOT making it us vs them. 99 percent of his posts are of the us vs them type.

Then let's debate ...

ISSUES.”

as long as you remember libbies this, libbies that is not an issue. your whole M.O. is how libbies are ruining the country. lets not just put and end to republicans vs democrats. lets put an end to liberals vs conservatives, too

CAN YOU DO THAT?
crash bang

I think you misunderstood or missed something.

Having liberal ideals on specific topics, or conservative ideals on specific topics is not bad in and of itself. What is bad is having the ideals because OTHER (whether it be politicians, political parties, or commentators, or even friends) who are also a liberal/conservative have those ideas. ... again, us versus them.

I have classical liberal (aka: conservative) ideas on how this country should be run, and I will stick to them, regardless of if a particular party or politician believes the way I do - and when they sway, I will call them out on it. That's how I've operated for a couple of years now, and that is the way I will continue.

For example, as long as you have known me, I have supported legalization of pot. That is a TRUE conservative (classical liberal), and modern liberal ideal. The Republicans have not supported that. I have called them out on it, and will continue to. We have had this particular discussion in the past. I did not side with Rush Limbaugh or George Bush or the Republicans. Now that I am NOT a Republican, I feel much freer to follow my heart on a wide-range of issues.

thats more or less what im trying to say

im just challenging you to live up to that. youre always going on about libbies this, libbies that, and as long as you do, youre just doing more of the same "us vs them"

um, "no". I may have like 4 years ago or in jest using the classic trailtalk "silly libby" line, but otherwise you're confusing me with somebody else. Time flies when you're getting old.

If an idea is "liberal", I will call it "liberal". If it's "conservative", I'll call it "conservative". Those aren't dirty words, and are only divisive when used to mock or to pick sides.

Again, why are you worrying so much about me and XL? I have already made this change. This isn't some kind of call to action for trailtalk or to say "from here on out, I'm doing it". I've been doing it, and I'm saying that as a nation, people need to wake up and realize the two parties are screwing us all. I'm not going to sit here and debate that. If you disagree, fine. We disagree then.

Corzine was a very unpopular governor. I was pissed as at him when he tried to push through his asinine idea to dramatically raise the tolls on the NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway and "monetize" the future income stream. I had written to him while he was still a candidate and asked him to drop the idea of selling our toll roads - that was before he revealed that the plan hinged upon dramatically increasing tolls. I'd be paying about $500 every month just to drive to work if his plan had passed. Either he had no idea how much that would impact common schlubs (out of touch billionaire) or he was looking to make a #&%!$-load of money for the underwriters (perhaps a little of both). Either way, it sucked. Battling the guy you just voted for is not a great way to start a term.

I gave Christie a hard look and only made up my mind to hold my nose and vote for Corzine about six weeks ago.

That being said, the race really only has implications for this state.

On the national scene, the Democrats picked up two more seats in the House. The NY-23 seat hasn't been held by a Dem in over 150 years! The RNC is bleeding like a stuck pig.

Neener-#&%!$ing-neener.

Christie is as conservative a Governor we've had in my lifetime. The moderate Republicans Kean and Whitman were pretty decent. I hope he turns out to be an excellent Governor - time will tell.
