Ron Paul? A REPUBLICAN? I can barely contain my shock” 4:53:10 PM 11/02/09 “A republican... That's how you categorize him? You've just demonstrated nicely what I've always suspected about you.” 4:58:28 PM 11/02/09 “What did he run as in '08 again? Please, jog my memory, oh wise one.” 5:13:19 PM 11/02/09 “I'll answer for you: "Oh, well, THAT... okay, so he RAN as a republican... but... well, do YOU want the commies to come out from under your bed and eat all your coco puffs? Because I sure don't! Obama wants to send Trigg to his death panels! Look over here! Look over here!"” 5:14:58 PM 11/02/09 “aww... gone so soon? But we were just getting to the core of your movement here... Maybe if you write Glenn Beck a letter right now asking how to respond, he'll get back to you in a week or two. I'll still be here. *edit* if you want any response from him, might I suggest including money in the letter. last edited: 11/02/09 5:32:30 PM” 5:29:13 PM 11/02/09 “That was a tilt-worthy comment, salebored.” 5:40:37 PM 11/02/09 “Ten more years and I could deserve the 'Silly Libby 'label.” 10:21:05 AM 11/03/09 The one problem with the Tea Party..... “HPD...can you explain this? Early in his campaign, Dr. Paul, the son of the uncompromising libertarian hero Ron Paul, denounced Medicare as "socialized medicine." But this spring, when confronted with the idea of reducing Medicare payments to doctors like himself — half of his patients are on Medicare — he balked. This candidate, a man ostensibly so against government power in all its forms that he wants to gut the Americans With Disabilities Act and abolish the departments of Education and Energy, was unwilling to reduce his own government compensation, for a very logical reason. "Physicians," he said, "should be allowed to make a comfortable living." Those of us who might have expected Paul's purist followers to abandon him in droves have been disappointed; Paul is now the clear favorite to win in November. Ha, ha, you thought we actually gave a #&%!$ about spending, joke's on you. That's because the Tea Party doesn't really care about issues — it's about something deep down and psychological, something that can't be answered by political compromise or fundamental changes in policy. At root, the Tea Party is nothing more than a them-versus-us thing. They know who they are, and they know who we are ("radical leftists" is the term they prefer), and they're coming for us on Election Day, no matter what we do — and, it would seem, no matter what their own leaders like Rand Paul do. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/17390/210904?RS_show_page=0” 6:59:35 AM 9/29/10 “I would have to see the conversation in total, not just a soundbite. My experience with mags like this is they go to great lengths to hide context. If you have that, I'll check it out.” 7:03:52 AM 9/29/10 “If you'll note, the only thing in those paragraphs that Ron Paul supposedly said was "Physicians" (break) "should be allowed to make a comfortable living." The rest was RS commentary.” 7:05:31 AM 9/29/10 “Click on the RS article....(the green words with the line under them). I am in agreement that RS is not the most "professional" reporting...but it is a story on Kentucky” 7:34:38 AM 9/29/10 “I did. You copied the entire context presented in the story on that specific issue. Like I said, I would have to see the conversation in total (or at least some of the conversation), not just a soundbite. If you have that, I'll read it and comment. All there is to go by is Ron Paul's single statement (which I copied again) surrounded by Rolling Stone's opinionated commentary. What did Ron Paul say?” 7:42:06 AM 9/29/10 “says the guy who will make accusations but not back it up. Show me just one time where I did that yesterday.” 7:52:33 AM 9/29/10 “... or the day before. ... or the day before that. That's what I thought.” 7:53:10 AM 9/29/10
