Fact of life #26378465367: If you're in a small boat (even Batman's boat) don't fvck with big boats.

I'm not a huge fan of whaling but I hate self righteous environmentalists who break the law even more.

I got the heeby-jeebys just cruising alongside a barge in Appalatchicola Bay in a tiller-drive fishing boat. I finally gave way and crossed it's wake. Frightening, I tell ya.

I should mention that the wind was 20 knots from the port bow. My little craft was being thrashed all the while.

I like watching the wind surfers in San Fran Bay jump the tanker wake.

HPD, you would be correct except that the whalewatchers are trying to use the law against the whalers. If they were dedicated enough they would use limpet mines like they did in teh 80's. But today's rainbow warriors aren't the environmental soldiers of the past. These are mostly kids on extended holidays or backpacking journeys who after a night or two of partying with the crew of the Sea Shepard decide to join in for the adventure.

My father in law got a "new to him" van. It's the now retired 2005 Chevy "Lady Gators" golf team van, with seats covered in Florida Gator blue vinyl.

Still can't stop laughing.

The pics will have to wait until tonight. I didn't have my phone on me when they dropped by to pick Laurel's violin and stuff.

As long as he is not sniffing the seat cushions, I wouldn't be too alarmed.
