Can not add new users, can not use certain characters in posts, site goes down and stays broken for a week or more, risk of lost data... “YOGI - has a good point - the complete absence of moderation is only one aspect of the administrative neglect of TT and not the most important one.

HPD - I would be comfortable with a moderator not knowing the entire context, depending on how the rules were set up. I would not want any moderator judging who was and was not "a bad guy" in a TT war - even if he/she read all the posts. It is too complex and subjective. Even when I was a full blown TT addict, I never read every thread - I cannot imagine how much time if would take to follow everything.

For deleting posts and for deleting or reclassifying threads - there could be clear rules on what was permitted and what was not. Since one main problem is stuff spilling over from one thread to the next - I would be comfortable with a moderator looking only at the thread as context.
