Downstream from Harper's Ferry the Potomac River was in the woods.” 3:45:21 AM 3/15/10 “average drifts 5 foot with some being much more. We had to skirt around a couple times to access the trail south from Landis Trail head and N Fork.” 1:42:52 PM 3/15/10 “Highlights: Drive along Smoke Hole Canyon on the way to meet-up spot first night--full,wild little river along beautiful West Va canyon walls, setting up camp in warmish drizzle, turning colder with night and into steady downpour, hot fire, Fridge's worldclass steaks, beer, grilled veggies, fireside conversation at it's finest with Fridge, Marko, Coco, Cavs. Breaking down camp in the rain, driving to north end of North Fork, hiking in more rain uphill 1.6mi to campsite, building a fire with great expertise and tenderlovingcare with soaked wood, Coco and Cav heading off on little exploration, postholing upto their crotch in 8-10ft drifts with small river running underneath them, weather clearing, wind coming in on the ridge, good sleeping weather, cloudy and no rain Sunday, 4 miles of great hiking to Redland trail, good views of sun breaking thru across the valley onto Dolly sods, 2 mi. down Redland to trucks. full creeks, random 4-12ft drifts to skirt around, all around worthwhile adventure with my fav mountain men!” 1:57:30 PM 3/15/10 “awesome. glad you all were able to score a good trip.
