Crash the Trail ends at Terril Pond from there go down to what I call the point on the where the creek starts. we paddled over that time we canoe over to the Peninsula with Attlia a year or 2 ago. Then the old road starts up by Terril Pond we would either need to angle up and hit the road or if we want we can go around the edge of the lake I think it is do able one part of the bank is real steep when can decide then.

I'd love to do this trip but just noticed that I am scheduled to work that Saturday.

Glad to see that there is still some life in the Indy crowd.

Good for you!

I'm actually going out on my own this year. I've been building monthly clients for about a year now. I'm getting to the point where I'm so busy my wife occasionally looks at me funny and asks me who I am. So, with tax season around the corner, the timing's not too shabby to stop working for THE MAN.

Sorry to say I won't be able to make this weekend hike, as I've got a social/work engagement on the schedule. I wish I could, and I miss all you guys. My 2009 record was poor to say the least, maybe I'll get back on track in 2010. Have a great hike!

I am a maybe on this one. So far it looks good. Low temps don't bother me, however, a raging blizzard may cause me to think it over.

I just looked at the weather. If it's as cold as they say, I'm probably bailing.

Hey Coyote,

As long as the roads are decent up here I'll be there on Saturday. I'll just meet you at the Firetower at 10. Sound good?

HM they are calling for snow on Thursday if we get alot of snow the road to the firetower will be open by Saturday.

If we get a little snow if you don't have 4-wheel we cannot get to the Friday Night campsite.

Depending on weather and temps Saturday Is looking better but hey this is Indiana and it might 40 degrees by Friday who knows

i will not lie. i am downgrading to a maybe, depending on the final weather forecast, and if i get around to getting a warmer bag for this weekend. my current winter bag has lost a lot of loft, and is really not fit for temps below 25

Gander mountain (had...still might)at least 2 different zero degree bags on sale in the $40.00 range (1 mummy style...1 rectangular cut) as late as last weekend Indy northside.

That's not just cold, but killing cold!!!

If ya all really wanna do something then rent a cabin and just do some day hiking, better than having frozen feet and other body parts!!

See ya later.

I did cold weather last year and know that my zero bag isn't zero for me. I've found that when it gets below 20 degrees, I'm not having much fun. At 10 degrees, it doesn't seem like I can get warm even by the fire.

I was out once and the evening temp hit 9. As bad as that sounds, I was okay in a 20 degree bag with clothing on.

The night last year in Hoosier, it was 30 degrees and I frooze my ass off! I just cannot do it anymore.
