“Cost is $5 for 6 people. For the group of yes people signed up as of about 30 seconds ago the cost would be $10 with 2 openings left on the permit.

Besides the two visitor centers there are several vendors

“thursday night, im going to camp at/near the leatherwood ford trailhead. if you dont know where that is, take 297 west out of oneida and into the park. after you pass the park hq, and just before you cross the river, is the trailhead. i know there are campsites a few minutes south of the parking area. thats where i intend to be

“where 297 crosses the big south fork of the cumberland river. it is called leatherwood ford. there are symbols for canoeing, phone, picnic tables, and "th" for trailhead”

“Sandy Duncan wrote the book, her husband Howard works there too. He has hiked every trail there and knows it like the back of his hand. Either will do.”

“A map in this place is a good idea.
Ewker and I did a 3 day loop in here last spring. There were several times when our map came in handy.
I think we went in via Laurel Creek or something like that, looped around past Jakes Place, the Arches, Charit Creek Lodge, and back. We had maybe 15 stream crossings which, at that time, weren't too bad but there were definitely spots where you can get feet wet.
And, as with Mammoth, you will share some trailage with horses.”

the people who have signed up have been on many trips that i have organized, and know i always plan a good route. ask any one of them. ive been busy with school. that is why i have not posted a route, but i have been considering different options”

that one turned out great once the whinners went back to the trailhead the next morning. The campsite by Laurel creek was awesome. The first nights campsite was ok once you found it :P”

“that second night's campsite was amazing! finding a big, gorgeous swimming hole right next to the campsite on a hot summer days was perfect”
