a CON is whenever you drive outside the state, everyone you pass will think "there goes another ass hole".

Well UM New Jersey is an interesting place. It is mostly known for the incredible corruption, crime and its pathetic Turnpike.

Once you get off the high way you find a beautiful garden spot that sadly is full of crime corruption and pathetic jokes.

If the US had an average population density equal to NJ, the total population would be around 4,297,860,000. If you like being around people, it's the place for you!

New Jersey adopted what sponsors described as "the most stringent gun law" in the nation in 1966; two years later the murder rate was up 46% and the reported robbery rate had nearly doubled.

When crossing the Delaware into NJ, most bridges are toll-free. When crossing the Delaware leaving NJ, tolls are charged. They knew there was more of a market in getting out of NJ than getting in.

Also, all NJ registered cars have the same color pale yellow plate. This makes them easy to spot in neighboring states where their drivers can be referred to as "puke-taggers."

Where did all the names go?

I assume that last post is from chili. My ex lived in Mississippi for a while and says that the people in Mississippi are the friendliest she’s ever met. That says a lot considering that she’s from Boston and brings a Boston attitude with her wherever she goes. It’s a tribute to Mississippi folks that she didn’t get lynched for being a “Damned Yankee.” But she’s got only good things to say about the people of Mississippi.

NJ can actually be quite pretty. There are some quaint little towns and lots of old historical buildings. If your only impression of NJ is from the highways then you’re ignorant of how pretty the area can be.

However, NJ epitomizes “keeping up with the Joneses.” Status seems very important up there. What car you drive and what neighborhood you live in are very important to many folks in NJ. A typical argument people make for living there is how much money they make… However:

They have the highest population density of any state

They’ve made it almost impossible for citizens to defend themselves from their high crime rates.

Their politics has a history of corruption.

They’ve made it difficult for poor folks because they’ve driven the price of real estate into the stratosphere.

They have the highest automobile insurance rates in the country

They have the highest levels of taxation in the country

The high maintenance cost of NJ government, real estate costs, utilities costs, and insurance costs all nullify those high salaries. And then you’re just left with incredibly high population density and the salt they use to clear roads in winter rotting your cars.

NJ makes you wonder what “Blue State” folks really stand for.

On the upside, the Italian restaurants are second to none.
