Democrats were unanimously willing to give Robert Byrd a pass for being a leader in the Klu Klux Klan, even referring to him as "the conscience of the Senate", but not forgive Paul for things other people said in a some newsletter?!

Here is something Byrd himself said:

Byrd wrote to Bilbo that he would never fight under the American flag:

“[W]ith a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.” 19

Ironically, Byrd had already taken himself out of ever having to serve beside any fellow American of any color. While hundreds of thousands of black and white Americans fought for the United States during World War II, Byrd was safely opting out of combat, working in the Baltimore shipbuilding yards. So it certainly appears to be a case of “big talk” from Byrd, along with its clearly racist content.

How do you folks sleep at night?

So... all deflection aside... you have no problem with the linked remarks that Paul either wrote directly or attached his name to (and acted as editor for)?

Violin, do you have a problem with Obama sitting on the front row for 25 years while Reverend Wright called us the US of KKKA? perhaps Zsa Zsa Huffington never told you about that. I read your article and it's a total pile. Geesh, you expect to find anyone who's never said anything wrong before. I dont believe RP is a racist or has a malicious bone in his body. He's very intelligent and wouldn't hurt a flea. I don't like him because of his foreign policy stances

Deflection? It's your selective outrage that's just amazing.

Hey, if you've got a quote from Ron Paul saying something as outrageous as that Byrd quote, post it. Don't be lazy putting up tired ass DU talking points.

Take a look at the thread title and explain why I should be posting Robert Byrd quotes here.

If you could show me a post where I said I admired Byrd or gave him a pass for his past, your attempt at misdirection might be relevant.

Are you faking this reading comprehension problem?

I asked you for a direct quote from Ron Paul that you find objectionable.

I only brought up Byrd because you are an obvious democrat loyalist, and he was a highly respected democrat leader. Even after this: http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D0FIBJt-c2o0&v=0FIBJt-c2o0&gl=US

According to Byrd's supporters, his racist behavior was acceptable, because he what trying to get elected in West Virginia. (That and because he was a democrat, but that wasn't mentioned, I guess.)

Byrd is the gold standard of bigot politician. Seems a likely place to measure Paul's alleged bigotry.

In this whole thread I haven't seen one bigoted comment made by Paul. Just the defamation innuendo dance designed to smear by association. Typical.

It's time for someone younger and not so limited to take over the anti-war and anti-war on platform who has a complete platform for common Americans, Gary Johnson for example.

Oh I totally agree uncliff.
I'm still waiting for V to produce an original thought or a particular quote the he/she finds offensive..

If these people are allowed to cut and paste character assassinations on Paul they will do it to Johnson or whoever.

Oh camper, you're opinion is null and void ever since you admitted that presidents don't matter, your vote doesn't matter, and that you love Justin Beiber.....

Because white eyes got here on a sailing ship, which had a captain, they kept that mistaken concept, but worse they kept Lynyrd Skynyrd also instead of Beiber on stage in this century.

....but you'll still listen to Dick Morris after all those wrong predictions to push all those horrible books?

Fox news really will rot your brain, you'd be better off listening to Justin Beiber..

...oh, and I never said my vote doesn't matter. I said if you vote for someone you don't believe in you've wasted your vote.

Ye you said that to me camp, and altho you're right, I still may hand a vote to our presidential idiot. True enough it's for the wrong reasons, but I do have that right. Ask Obama!
