Need Shuttle “I am planning to hike the AT from Wesser to Fontana Dam later this summer and am looking for a shuttle back to Wesser. Does anyone know someone in the local area who I can call. Thanks” 8:20:16 AM 6/09/10 “ ”8:25:40 AM 6/09/10 The AT Shuttle List. “http://www.appalachiantrail.org/atf/cf/%7Bb8a229e6-1cdc-41b7-a615-2d5911950e45%7D/AT%20SHUTTLE%20LIST%20WEB%206-1-10.PDF The AT Shuttle List.” 8:48:08 AM 6/09/10 Thanks “This list is a big help.” 11:19:54 AM 6/09/10 “If you need a personal (okay, virtual) referral, you might want to ask over on whiteblaze.net.” 11:21:12 AM 6/09/10 “You doing just that section or a whole bunch of the AT?” 1:48:00 PM 6/09/10 “I have used shuttles from Wes Wisson and A Walk in the Woods/Erik and Vesna Plakanis from that AT list. Both were on time and very nice. A Walk in the Woods/Erik and Vesna Plakanis even takes Credit Cards. I have not used Ron Haven, but he seems to be well known on Whiteblaze.” 2:18:58 PM 6/09/10 “Ron Haven is a true friend to hikers. I have used him before and I highly recommend his services.” 2:26:02 PM 6/09/10 “The Hike Inn also does shuttles.” 2:36:18 PM 6/09/10 “In October, I had a no-show by Gene's Shuttle Service out of Robbinsville, NC for a shuttle from Fontana Dam across to Cherokee. Never showed up. When called, his wife didn't know where he was and implied that he may have picked up another hiker earlier. This is the first no-show by a shuttle service I have ever had. I've done about 600 miles of the AT. We ended up re-routing our trip to the Twentymile section of the Great Smoky Mtn NP to salvage the trip.” 8:05:52 AM 10/29/10
