3-day hike recommendations for Yosemite? ?

“I've only been to Yosemite once - 1985. I've been afraid to go back because of the crowds. When I figure out how to avoid the people I'll go again. Seems like a hassle to have a good time in Yosemite, but plenty of savvy backpackers have figured it out. For now I figure there are plenty of less popular places without all the NPS rules & regs, Like Emigrant, Dinky Lakes, Golden Trout, etc.”

“Just got back from Yosemite 3 weeks ago and recommend going up the Merced River gorge and back up around cloud's rest. I only ran into maybe 5 or 6 people during my 4 days out there. Finished off the last day by going up half dome. It was crowded going back down, but we got up there early so we beat the crowds going up. Total mileage was approx. 45 miles.”
