AT/LT section hike Monday

“I'm doing a 22.6 mile section in Vermont (about 4K of gain). Anyone want to join me?”

“i loved vermont. i think the vermont section of the AT is one of the more under-rated sections. deep, dark, lush green forests, the occasional magnificent view from a rugged mountain-top. that may sound like most of the AT, but i think vermont takes it up a notch above anything to the south.”

“I've always wanted to get out that way. Came close on a FYAO trip. I have to see the Atlantic for the first time as well.”

I'm also doing the LT SOBO in August. It would be great to meet up with a TT'er or two on the way to Massachusetts.

Right now I'm thinking of doing the Cohos and the 100 mile wilderness next summer. I prolly will, unless I get really ambitious and put together a plan for the John Muir trail. Anyone interested, please let me know.”

“No Crash its south of Maine Junction. Route 9 goes into Bennington, Kelley Stand Road is a little more than Midway to the road crossing where you'd hitch to Manchester.

(To jog your memory, shelters on this stretch are Melville Nauheim, Goddard, Kid Gore, Caughnawaga and Story Spring).”

“I swim with my pants on, sometimes with my shirt on when I backpack. Its nice to get the clothes clean - and if its hot enough to swim, it is usually nice to have wet clothes on while backpacking.”
